But that's my point: It should be a raw points battle. Take a game of tug-of-war. You have two teams pulling on the rope, and one team has more players than the other. It's a great struggle, but the smaller team pulls the other team over, claiming victory. But wait! The other team had more players and the other team ONLY BARELY won! Therefore the team that lost the actual game wins because there are more players. Tell that to any sane person in real life and they'll tell you how dumb that logic is. This is a game where those who try the hardest and are the most skilled emerge victorious. But Splatfest has proven that it isn't a skill contest--it's a popularity contest. In a video game where the main aspect is to fight for victory, having more teammates regardless of whether or not you win is the great deciding factor. Given it is an opinion-based competition, I'm fine with popularity being taken into account... but make it worth less points. Make it a failsafe bonus if the matches come really close. But for the love of god do NOT make it a deciding factor. This is a competitive sport. Not a political campaign.
