Name: Carson Shaw
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Classification: Attacker
Rank: B-Rank
Appearance:
Personality: Impulsive and headstrong, Carson always acts first, leaving the thinking for later. Patience isn't a word on Carsons' dictionary; he's constantly looking for something to do, and isn't one to stand in any one place for long. It's easy for him to get caught up in the heat of the moment, which often ends up hurting him in the long run. Regardless, he refuses to stay knocked down for long, since he has persistence and energy to spare, sometimes in a literal sense, as he'll do his best to motivate his friends too.
He might not have the best head on his shoulders, but he makes up for it with heart. For him, the glass is always half full, even if it appears to be empty. No matter what, he'll place others' safety above his own, despite any harm that might come to himself. Even if his personality leads to him getting tricked often, he'll never give up on doing what's right. However, he's also very stubborn, which makes him especially immune to criticism, especially from his peers. The problem is, because of his impulsive attitude, this happens a lot, which makes it difficult for him to properly address his weaknesses.
He's also considerably observant and sensitive to others' emotions; he's happy to join on someone's happiness just as much as he is ready to comfort their anguish. He enjoys simply being around people he likes, and tries to make it so his presence is enjoyable too. Because of that, he tries to hide his own problems from others, since there's nothing he'd hate more then imposing his burdens on his friends. He'd rather deal with his own problems himself, even if sharing them would make their resolution much easier.
Brief Bio: Carson was born and raised in America, where he lived a pretty uneventful life. He grew up wanting to be a superhero, like every young boy, but sometimes he took it too far and got in trouble with people well over his age. However, even after getting hurt, he'd just get back at it the next day. Interestingly, when the Mikado invasion happened, as Carson watched the reports on TV, he rooted for the Border agents without even considering becoming one; he saw that as a world completely apart from his own.
Even if he lived so far away, fate had it to place Carson in Cardiff in that dreadful day. Indeed, he went to visit his older brother, who was working in a hospital there for some time. He had actually been looking forward to that trip for quite a while: not only would it he get to see his busy brother, which in and of itself was rare, but it would also be the first time he traveled outside of America, so he was curious to check out the sights and culture of England.
It was the second day of his visit, and he was walking around the streets of Cardiff, waiting for his brother to get off work so they could spend some time together. He hadn't noticed the black sphere in the sky at first, but a yell coming from behind him made him turn and witness that terrible sight. One by one, spheres started appearing far and wide, and from them, grey creatures emerged. Carson immediately recognized them; how could he not? He had already seen reports of attacks like those in the news, some even happening on his own continent. However, those always seemed so distant, like they would never happen to him.
Because of that, he took some time processing the events occurring in front of him. As people yelled and ran the opposite direction, he couldn't help but think he had to do something. As he saw the big monstrosity at the end of the road slowly making its way through, he made a reckless and overall dumb decision: if no one else wants to do it, then he himself would stand against these invaders!
Carson opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was his brother; sitting in a chair next to his bed; he still hadn't noticed Carson, and continued to go over some kind of report. It seemed they were at the hospital he worked at, or at least, what was left of it, as the big hole in the wall suggested. What followed was to be expected: after the initial happiness, his brother then went full scolding mode, lecturing him about his recklessness for what seemed like hours. From what he was able to discover, it seems Carson's attempt at battling the beast could barely even be called that, as he fainted immediately after being hit in the head with some falling debris from a nearby building. After being promptly detected and removed from the scene by an unknown Border agent, volunteers brought him to the hospital, and the rest was history.
While spending the next few days recovering, Carson realized how real the Neighbours threat was. He had never put himself in that perspective, and thinking about people back home having to deal with a situation like that started to worry him increasingly more. He wanted to be able to do what he wasn't able to: protect people from a threat they weren't able to deal with themselves. Plus, if he successfully became a respectable agent, he would be able to go back to his hometown and make sure it stayed safe against this threat.
It took a lot of convincing to let his brother agree with his request. In the end, he yielded; the chance of him getting caught in another invasion and risking his life again was too big, and that time he might not get as lucky. If he became an agent, at least he would have a way to protect himself.
And so, leaving to his brother the task of convincing their parents, Carson applied and was accepted into C-rank, along with a bunch of other people. Even though he performed well in the entry tests, getting to B-rank would turn out to be quite a challenge. His impulsive nature systematically got him in trouble, so his climb through C-rank was slow. However, through sheer persistence, he managed to eventually rank up as an Attacker, and from there he'd continue working hard so that someday he'll get to A-rank. Even if that day is really, really far away.
