Celeste let loose a small gasp as she processed not only what she could see, but also all the voices. A body in the basement, a time travelling mystery, air thicker than that milkshake she bought two days ago and- did that girl just phase through the floor?

Marvelous scanned the room, the smoke from her eyes catching around some grey lint in the air. She noted two oddities, one was that a soul is being spread across this room somehow and two was that the coffee that had been split contained traces of blood. Her tongue shot out her mouth as her body determined the type: AB.

Marvelous had to make a choice, and she did so. Snapping her fingers extracted the blood from the coffee, only around ten milliliters as she let it hang and follow behind her.

"I'm heading down to the basement, It's where I'll do the most good. Anyone with me?"

The blood drained from Jiyu's face when she saw what was before her. She gasped and remained frozen until she heard both the recording and the blonde girl's message. Marvelous broke her from her stupor, instantly snapping Jiyu to hero mode.

"I can heal. I'll go down with you," she responded, instantly grabbing two items in her tote. Jiyu pushed the button on one, and a black bodysuit quickly enveloped her from her neck down while a butterfly-shaped mask covered her face. She threw her ball in the air, and the black hinges began to expand to the size of her head and glow blue. "You ready?" she asked.

Going down the stairs was worlds easier than going up - Jiyu just slid down every rail effortlessly while cradling her suitcase, her ball faithfully following. In no time, she was able to proceed to the basement.

The room was illuminated by old fluorescent strip lights, the body in clear sight and splayed as if it was thrown in. Thrown from the stairs? thought Jiyu. There were no noticeable wounds, but the man was clearly unconscious. Not much else seemed interesting at first glance - the basement was littered with old metal crates that were rusted shut.

"First things first," she said, before pointing to her ball. Mana flowed out of the ball and coated the man in glowing blue for a few seconds before returning. The man's breathing became even, but he remained unconscious. "That's good enough for now. But what about..." Following the procedure she had seen before in training, Jiyu pricked the man's finger with a pin on the suitcase to let a drop of blood fall onto the lock.

The suitcase opened to reveal two bloody hands.

After a few moments, Haru realised she wouldn’t be catching the figure. He was accelerating too fast, and was going so high that by the time she did catch him, if she even could, she probably would no longer be able to breathe. And while it could be possible that she didn’t need to because of her powers, she wasn’t willing to take the risk.

“Dammit!” She howled, raising a palm to the sky and using Flare Boost to shoot her back down to the ground. She turned to face the flat, blasting Fireballs at the walls and floors until she made holes in them just big enough for her to fit through, until she could reach the basement.

Couldn’t catch the enemy, she thought, assuming the telepath could hear her. Approaching basement now. She outstretched her hands behind her, blasting forwards again even faster towards the basement.

As the box was opened by Jiyu- who really cheated by sliding down the banister (her coat would keep getting stuck=not fair)(She looks so cute in that butterfly mask tho aaaaaaaaaaa) she managed to grasp the single drop that was pricked from the finger of the robed body. Her body gave her the answer immediately.

"AB positive, same as the coffee. That's curiou-"

Whatever words were on her lips fell as she saw the contents of the box. Her fingers itched with sweat as she took the bandana off her head and pocketed it. The blood on the hands was curiouser however, after she got over her horror and compartmentalized Celeste's horror.

There was two peoples blood in here, A positive and O negative.

The blasts from above shook the basement slightly, rocking the lights and causing rumblings in the boxes, echoing like cymbals. As the rumbling gave a reprieve, a bang could be heard from beyond the boxes, deeper in the basement.

As soon as the door opened, Zander noticed traces of energy hanging in the air. Something had happened here - someone ran, fought, or did something else to disturb the room. He instinctively grabbed the hilt of his beam sword from his pocket as he scanned the rest of the room.

A small surge in energy suddenly came from the blondie from earlier - Kara? - and he glanced her way. "We're not alone here. 11th floor and right below us," she said, and then she... seemed to disappear through the floor? Before Zander could process her words, he heard the holo recorder go off. He tried to listen in on what Presidium (err, Elliot Hawks) was saying, but a giant surge in power coming from the basement pulled his attention. He immediately dashed out the door, charging the blade of his sword in an instant. The pulse of energy he sensed felt similar to the small blip he felt from Kara earlier, but something was definitely going on down there.

A voice pounded in his skull - was that Kara? There's a body in the basement. Unconscious, but badly damaged. I can sense something on the 11th floor, but I cannot visibly see anything." Not sure of how to reply, Zander just sorta tried to force some thoughts back to her. "If you're not in any imminent danger, I'll head to the 11th floor and give it a look around."

He slowed his pace to a moderate jog down the stairs, relieved that she seemed to be alright. As he reached the 11th floor of the building, he noticed more traces of energy trailing down the hall, leading to a closet. He braced himself, his beam sword at the ready... but when he opened the closet door, nothing was there. He glanced throughout the small space, but didn't notice anything particularly out of the ordinary.

Suddenly, a loud blast rung out, and the building shuddered. After the tremor stopped, a large - no, a massive amount of energy started to pool in the basement. Zander's hair stood on end as he realized what it was. "****! How the hell is there radiation in the basement of a hero's office building?" he thought. Then he realized that Kara was down there with the unconscious body - as he focused, he could sense her energy still active, not far from the radiation.

He channeled all the energy he'd charged up before his trip into chemical energy that his body could use, and sprinted back down the hall as fast as he could. As he shot down the stairs, he tried to send another message to Kara through his mind. "There's an enormous leak of nuclear radiation in your area, I'm on my way down right now."

As he reached the basement, he took note of the other figures standing by. Kara, the woman with the glowing coat, another girl wearing a sort of black suit, and the unconscious body on the floor. He immediately turned towards the source of the energy, already starting to absorb the radiation from the area around him. As he got closer, he saw what was causing the radiation: a baseball-sized object with a dial and a button on the top. He picked it up, letting his body continue to absorb the energy that was coming from it. He immediately realized that the dial resembled a kitchen timer, slowly turning as it pointed back to 0. "****. ****fuckfuCKFUCKFUCK," he started to swear, realizing that the object was probably a bomb of some sorts. Without thinking he slammed his hand down on the button, and the device stopped. Glancing around the area, he noticed a cubby hole that seemed to have been hidden behind some crates that fell during the tremor.

As he wiped his brow, he walked back towards the others. Having absorbed a lot of energy, his eyes were gleaming a bright scarlet. "This little sucker was leaking nuclear radiation - not sure what caused it to go off exactly, maybe it fell or something? In any case, it's stopped now. I've absorbed all the radiation in the area, but I should probably check you guys to make sure you're clean too. That ****'s nasty."

The amount of racing thoughts, emotions, and experiences flashing through Kara's mind from the others almost brought her to her knees at first. It was too much to handle until she remembered her training from long ago. Breathe, she told herself. Distance your mind and separate the voices. She took a deep breath in and let her aura relax into a soft radiant light. While she still glowed with energy, it was less stringent than what she was previously emitting. It had been far too long since she had used her telepathy as a beacon relay, but her dusty skills would have to suffice. Of high importance were the different powers and skill sets that she saw being used. The group was quite varied, and there was much for her to work with. She had never wanted to lead such an endeavor - she was supposed to stay hidden. But she couldn't just stand back from the action now. She had to step up for this one.

She closed her eyes and tried to separate all the pieces of information in her head. The powerful one that chased after the fleeing figure was unable to catch them. They would need to track that person later, but the present situation was more important. It appeared that the body in the basement could unlock the box that the one girl with the butterfly mask had brought down with her. Perhaps the blood of this mystery person could open the rest of the eight boxes they were in possession of. They needed the rest of those boxes down here as soon as possible. The person that could get the boxes down here the fastest would be the idiot speedster from earlier. In all fairness, he had played the tape from the 14th floor, which she was able to listen to from his thoughts and the thoughts of the youngest girl. She projected her thoughts upward to the ones still left in the office. We need those boxes down here. Fast one, please gather the remaining boxes and meet me down in the basement. Young one, please continue to search the room. I believe there may be more over there that escapes our present attention.

She turned to the rest of the group standing in front of her, minus the one on the 11th floor. "We may be able to unlock the rest of these boxes with the blood from this body. It wouldn't hurt to try, and the contents of the rest of the boxes are likely to help with figuring the rest of this out. She finally turned to Zander. “Radiation doesn’t bother me, but the others may need to be looked at.”

A few seconds and two trips up the stairs later, Chuck had all the briefcases in the basement.
"Here we go, Miss...I didn't get your name. Never mind that. But I can't guess why you'd need them down WHAT IN THE SAM HILL! ARE THOSE HANDS?!"
Chuck looked around frantically at Jiyu and Marvelous. He'd seen bodies in his line of work before, but he wasn't expecting something like this today. Wasn't this supposed to be a business meeting or something? What rotten luck.
"And did you guys use the corpse to open the...god damn. This is some Saw-level **** up in here. And judgin' by the running theme of today being battered cadavers, I'd be willin' to bet those hands could be the key to some of these."

Chuck thought for a moment before tapping his noggin with his fingers. He'd always found that stressful times make for dumb choices. Since picking up the hero gig, Chuck was trying to get this "critical thinking" thing down a little better. He just needed a moment.
"But looks like y'all thought of that first. Good thinkin'. I can help you try the different locks and get these open meanwhile. By the way..."
Chuck pointed at Zander off-handedly, completely unaware of the radioactivity in the area.
"Why's he glowing?" He said to Kara. "That seems very not healthy. And did you say radia...radiation."

Glowing super kid.

A bomb in his hand.

Lightbulb. 💡

"Oh, for the love of Pete. Nukes? Seriously? And I thought the plane ride was bad..."

She could only manage to look ahead at the scene and find a place to sit down at first. At least she could take solace in the comfortable padding the carpet provided. This whole murder mystery gig wasn't anything she had experienced before, sure, but maybe she could apply her other experiences to this. Maybe there was some vault to crack that'd have all of the answers to what's going on... Her gaze flits over to the box. Part of her wished she stayed downstairs to try to crack that thing. Presidium- no, Elliot Hawks, wasn't going to give any more answers, at the least. God, she hoped he was okay. Somehow.

Then the message came, and the fast guy left. It only took her a moment longer for her to realize she was alone. She had nothing to do. The young one - the not fifteen year old, she assumed the telelady was talking about, left a long time ago. Speaking of which, she glanced outside to see if she could see any sign of her. Which, unfortunately, she couldn't, but then some noises from down below finally registered. They must have started without her noticing, but it sounded like something dangerous. Something she shouldn't be messing with. She pulled herself into a ball, breaths coming ragged.

She wasn't a hero. She never knew how to deal with the outside world. Was this normal? Did people just live their lives not giving a second thought to how this wasn't okay? And what was that other stuff he mentioned. Coming from the future? Changing it? Why her? Shouldn't he have hired actually competent heroes who knew what they were doing? ...Well, she guessed that applied to everyone else here. They seemed to have an idea of what to do, at least. But not her. She was utterly useless, she was going to fail whatever future was coming for them, and this would all come crashing down-

Breathe.

She forced herself to stand up. Maybe the young-looking girl wasn't there, but she was, so she'd have to do. Maybe she could figure out why someone would hunt Elliot down. The only thing that popped in her mind is that it was someone else who followed him from the future, trying to stop his efforts. If that was the case, the rest of them were in danger. ...****, they were all split up weren't they? Or at least, she was split up from them.

Breathe.

Warily casting her gaze around the area, she started her search. First, the curtains. There was a lot of sound of cloth moving initially - maybe they were hiding something? The first few yielded nothing (and were surprisingly heavy), but eventually she stumbled upon two more cases. More curiously, however, were the three vials ontop of them. All were opaque, small vials of what she presumed was liquid, with the only thing distinguishing them being the white, red, and blue caps that held their contents in, from left to right. Figuring what's the worst that could happen, she decided to open the three of them to see if she could figure out any more regarding their contents. The first one looked like water at first glance, but capping water made no sense, so it might be something else. The second one was clear as well, but had a distinctly strong odor. She quickly capped that one. The third one was (surprise) clear, but it smelled distinctly of alcohol. Lovely. Part of her wondered if they were all different variations of alcohol, but there weren't many answers some vials of clear liquid could give her without further context. She'd have to keep an eye out for those colors, however. And those smells associated with those colors. That seemed like too strong of a coincidence to pass up.

The next thing that caught her attention was the bookshelf. She wandered over, at first trying to look at the back of the bookshelf to see if there was any kind of hidden mechanism, but then the more obvious thing struck her attention: the book titles. All of the books had the same exact title. 'Left Adrift Righteously'. She picked up a book at random to see what was inside - a **** ton of poems - but that made little sense to her. Why keep a million books about poems? She picked up another book just to make sure, but this time the contents were of some scientific journal. Strange. She puts both of them away. 'Left Adrift Righteously'. White, Red, Blue. Water bottle, strong bottle, alcohol. Lotta threes.

Well, this room had a lot of white, for damn sure. Maybe that had something to do with the bottle, though it's not like being in here made the bottle react or anything. Maybe it was somewhere else in the room? And there was still the desk that was sure to have plenty of information. Might even have something on what future thing they're supposed to stop. She made a mental note of the grey flakes once again, wondering for a moment if it was safe to be in the same room as them for a prolonged period of time, before going through the desk in front of the holographic player.

The desk was largely what one would expect. Letters, paper, pencils, pepper spray- pepper spray? Zeal stared at it for a moment. It was unopened, so it was certainly still effective. He wouldn't miss it, right? Right. She takes off the packaging and pockets the thing. Who knows, it could come in handy.

The letters nab her attention next. Specifically, a letter addressed to Mr. Hawks. So they weren't the only ones who knew. Swiftly opening it, (maybe this could be from whoever targeted him?), but instead of being greeted with anything standard, it was a printout of a website. Depicted on it was a man stumbling out of an alleyway, surrounded by electricity. But most interesting of all was the map that came alongside the printout. It was of Windemere, and the clocktower in the middle was circled. Underneath, the word "TRUTH" was scrawled in red. ...Looks like a mystery. She grins to herself.

The other letter that nabbed her attention was from the Grant Institute of Science, inviting Presidium to give a lecture to their sophmore students. An honor, considering how selective and reclusive the university was. He must not have been one to care about publicity to not open it, she figures. She pockets the first letter as well, before moving on to the rest of the scene.

Most of the other papers on the desk were audits from Raskaeria, a company that did human-trafficking that went under a few years back. She should probably tell the others about the map, but first, she poked around the desk for anything that resembled the liquid in the white cap... nothing. Huh. She looked up - how was she going to tell the others about it? What if they ran off to the next location already? ...Maybe she should go on ahead on her own.

Jiyu nearly vomited at the sight of the hands, but tremors from beyond the room she was in snapped her back to focus. A nuclear bomb in here? Geez, some people really want us dead, she thought. As soon as the radiation problem was resolved and the farm boy brought all the boxes back, Jiyu got right to work testing them on the blood of the body. Three of the other cases opened, but four didn't budge, even when she touched them with the hands from her case. "The heck?" she said. "These ones won't open."

She half wished that the ones that opened didn't. There was a heart in one, a leg in another, and a bloodied head in the last. "Ugh!" she yelled in disgust, averting her eyes from the cases as quickly as she could. Jiyu turned to Marvelous. "Do you know if the blood of any of these match? I'm gonna check the metal crates now."

Jiyu's ball glowed before firing a moving laser that cleanly sliced the tops off the metal boxes. Inside the boxes were assortments of military-grade armor, weapons, and drones, all tagged as recovered by Presidium and Clock Commando from insurgents. "Interesting," she said. "You think this stuff will be useful to any of you?"

She also noticed the cubby hole that the boxes had hid. Peering into it, the room it led to had a small hole in the floor that went down an unknown depth. "Guys, look at this," she called out. "Where could this possibly lead? And what's going on in the other floors?"

This "mission" was a full-blown murder mystery, and Jiyu really wasn't sure how she felt about that.

Silen stood still on the 12th floor. He didn't remember when he stopped running, but it felt like it was hours ago. The sheer amount of information that he had to process all at once was more than what could be reasonably expected from a normal human being, much less himself. He regretted keeping track of both the 14th floor and the basement by following the sound of the footsteps of people going down. Disappearing heroes, disembodied hands, the destruction of the building itself... He didn't even notice when the fast fellow ran past him and took his briefcase.

Was he even making any kind of difference there? His brain kept being bombarded with weird telepathic messages, so he couldn't even serve as a means of communication. And that's not to mention the kinds of powers he witnessed that day, in that office. He went back to the question that he was asking himself since he read that letter. Why? Why would Presidium, or Elliot, or whoever he was, choose him? Was it a mistake? Did he want to mock him? Bully him for not measuring up to his mother like many others did already? That had to be it. And in a way, Silen felt that he deserved it.

At that point, Silen felt like the most useful thing he could do was leave. He was only taking up space, there was nothing he could do there that couldn't be done better by someone else. He resumed climbing down the stairs, significantly slower this time. He wondered if he was able to catch the next train home in time. He could make it back by nighttime, and it would appear as if he never left. He started slowly dismissing all the sounds he'd been following. The explosions outside. The commotion in the basement. The heavy breathing in the 14th floor. Th-

The 14th floor. With everyone that passed him by on the stairs, and the other two that left that floor in more extravagant ways, the only one left there would be... the upbeat girl, right? The one that arrived after him? And she was upset? But suddenly the heavy breathing stopped. He started hearing footsteps, shuffling, moving around. She was investigating the room, even though she was scared earlier. For some reason, this resonated with Silen. There must be something even he could do. There had to be a way he could support the others. He was no good by himself, but if he could help even the tiniest bit...

Silen shook his head, rubbed his eyes and continued his way down to the 11th floor. He had an idea of something only he could do. A task so simple, but so specifically tailored to his power, he started suspecting it might have been planned. He started making his way through the cubicles, to the exact spot where the sound was coming from. He ended up in front of a... closet? Not something you would expect to find in an environment such as this. He opened it up, and sure enough, it was completely empty. And still, the weird chanting kept going. He knew it was coming from in there, no doubt about it.

So maybe, if he couldn't recognize it, somebody else could? Silen cleared his throat and focused. "Excuse me, sorry for interrupting." He started broadcasting his voice to the basement and the 14th floor. He spoke clearly and with conviction. "I don't wish to waste any of your time, so I'll get right to the point." He doubted anyone was feeling like him, but if the strength in his voice could inspire someone like the girl in the 14th floor inspired him, then he would have made a difference. "Can anyone understand this? If you do, please speak out." He then took the chanting coming from within the closet, passed it through the Mega Horn so it became more audible, and sent it to the two places he directed his voice to.

For the love of god, there was so much going on, but the speedster next to her had a loud ****ing mouth. ”There’s no need to yell - I, along with the rest of us down here, can hear you perfectly fine.” She shook her head in annoyance and then proceeded to close her eyes and focus on the remainder of events that were happening.

Her thoughts drifted upward to the ones still on higher floors. The young one was having a substantial breakdown, but Kara was pleasantly surprised and pleased that she was able to calm herself down and explore the rest of the room. There was much more information that the rest of the group was missing by staying down below. At least a couple of them would need to go back upstairs to help the young one out.

The insecure boy on the 11th floor also seems to finally grow a pair enough to send a message loud enough for the rest of them to hear. It was interesting that three of them, including herself, were unable to detect the source of the chanting on that floor. However, the amplification of the noise still did not trigger any recognition from her memories.

Finally, the butterfly mask girl was able to open four of their boxes but no more than that. The contents were… disturbing, but she had to put her own cares aside and focus on the facts.

What did she know as a whole now? She began to sift through and organize the information from all of the different sources, and began to broadcast her thoughts of what was currently known:
  1. Presidium was a lie. Elliot Hawks was a person of interest. Someone had gathered their group together, but this person’s identity was unknown.
  2. A hooded figure had fled from the scene. They were unable to be apprehended. Must track this person down later.
  3. The body on the floor had yet to be identified, but his AB+ blood was able to open 4 of the cases that contained: a pair of hands that were not from the same person (A+ and O- blood types), a heart, a leg, and a bloodied head. Must identify the blood types of the various body parts. Must try to identify the person(s) to which the body parts previously belonged to. Must try and open the rest of the boxes.
  4. There was a nuclear bomb waiting for them in the basement. It was neutralized. Must determine if there are any more hidden threats.
  5. The rusted boxes in the basement contained armor, weapons, and drones. Were said to be recovered by Presidium and Clock Commando. Must determine identity of Clock Commando.
  6. Also, in the basement, there is a small cubbyhole that leads possibly to… somewhere? Must send someone strong and capable to investigate.
  7. There’s chanting on floor 11. None of them could identify it - even with universal translators. The source of the chanting was a closet, but it was empty. That floor was also alight with energy. Must determine source of chanting.
  8. On the 14th floor, a spirit was detected. Must determine if dangerous.
  9. Also, on 14th floor, there was as follows: two more cases (must determine if these are able to be opened), three vials of unknown liquids - white-, red-, and blue-capped (must determine identity of contents), assortment of books all titled “Left Adrift Righteously” (must determine connection), a letter addressed to Elliot Hawks containing a picture of a man surrounded by electricity as well as a map with the Wintermere clocktower circled in red and the word “TRUTH” written below (must determine meaning of this), a letter to Presidium from the Grant Institute of Science (must determine if related or not), and audits from the human-trafficking company Raskaeria (must determine if all these events are connected).

Now that the information was sorted, they needed a plan of action. There was a lot that still needed to be done, yet there was eight of them that could divide the points of interest into manageable chunks. She hadn’t cared much to search for each of their names, but knowing them was now essential. She quickly gathered the information required and, once again, she began to broadcast a set of instructions for each of them in the group.

Strong One: Search the cubbyhole. Report anything of interest. Be wary of hidden threats.

Butterfly Mask, Blood Witch, Speedster, and Young One on the 14th floor: Head upstairs to try and open the remaining boxes. Have the Blood Witch identify blood types and matches. The Speedster will bring the body found in the basement to a safe place within the building to stabilize his condition, as well as carry objects when needed. Once completed, the three will assist the Young One with the contents of the 14th floor office.

Zander and Insecure One on the 11th floor: Zander, head to the 11th floor to help trace the source of energy. Aid the Insecure One in determining the source of the chanting as well.

My name is Kara. I will also accompany Zander upstairs to help. I’m not sure what we found ourselves in the midst of, but we cannot fail.

Jiyu smiled at Kara when the blonde was done relaying the information. This was what she needed to get her head straight. Thanks, she thought, addressing Kara. You can call me by my real name Jiyu, or... Jiyu realized she had never come up with a hero name, even though it would be important if they ended up doing public hero work. But if the mask was what stood out about her, then she might as well be called... Nabi. Butterfly.

"Let's move!" said Jiyu to Marvelous and Speedster as she grabbed two of the locked cases. "Marvelous, take samples from the open ones before you go." She began the long climb up in hopes of not wasting as much time when Speedster would inevitably get there way before her.

As she made the journey, she thought to Kara, Insecure One can manipulate sound, right? Could he maybe play the chanting backwards? Jiyu grimaced at the nickname, but at this point, there wasn't a better one to use.

"I hear ya," Zeal replied to the sound. "There's a map here that-"

The softly, yet conviction filled spoken(?) telepathic message made the words die in the girl's throat. Oh god. Three bodies and a nuke. She nervously looked over at the vials and the briefcases. Were there body parts in that case? Were the other two liquids some kind of bodily fluid? Was the third one just a bodily fluid that smelled like alcohol, for that matter? And there was a ghost...? She looked around. What ghost? She gets out a "Hi!", and the temperature dips for a brief second. Ooooh. As curious as she was, she decided to focus on the task at hand for now - listening to the girl.

Kara. That's a nice name. Though, come think of it, it was the phased out girl who was doing the telepathic communications, right? She wanted to say, but she wasn't entirely sure. The past few minutes had been a blur.

"Can ya hear me?" she asked, unsure of who it was meant for. Definitely for the voice, but maybe there was a chance Kara could hear her as well. It wasn't something she invested a lot of thought into however, as she pulled out her phone to look up the website in question.

Even in all the most morbid connections Marvelous and Celeste could concoct, nothing quite topped this. Muttering a quiet affirmation to Jiyu as she began heading upstairs she felt Celeste take control once again. Kneeling in front of the boxes, she began feeling through the blood as to determine what types they are, and hopefully if they match up with some of the others.

'Bingo'

The blood within the heart box was all A positive. Moving on to the leg, somebody had made the attempt to drain as much blood from it for some reason, although Celeste found dregs of blood that read O negative. Curious and curiouser. She turned to the head, and it was drenched in blood. Taking a deep breath, she began her search, her tongue flicking out as she determined the blood types. The blood covering the face was O negative, likely meaning that this blood was poured out from the leg, for whatever morbid reason that justifies. The blood pooling in the bottom reads A positive, matching whoever the other person was. As she stood up, blooding dripping off her hands as she moved it to hover in front of her, she noticed something solid within the pool of blood that had formed in the head box. Not wanting to coat her hands with more blood than necessary and disturb more of this crime scene, she lifted the blood around it to reveal that it was a memory card, a recent high-end model that had a sickeningly green S etched into the front. Celeste's eyes widened as she shoved it into her pocket and moved towards the stairs, the morbid curiousity sinking quickly into deep horror.

Haru twisted her body, flying through the holes she’d created in the building. As she saw the others who had gathered with her and the basement floor, she reacted quickly, using a localised Windstorm as well as two Flare Boosts from her hands to brake, coming to a sudden standstill in the air for a moment before dropping to the ground, landing lightly on her feet.

She scanned the room quickly, spotting the cubbyhole mentioned by the telepath. I suppose I’m meant to be the strong one. “I’ll search here.” She stated, voice back to her normal softness, yet her eyes still intense and cat-like. “Fill me in on what’s happened since I left.”

As she looked in, idly setting her fingers alight so she could see better, she saw the whole floor was lined with rust. The only part of it that wasn’t was a small hole in the centre that seemed to go down a long way, extremely so.

“Tch.” She doused the flame, bringing her hand into a fist and punched straight down, piercing right through before grabbing the new hole and pulling at the sides until it was large enough for her to fit in. Quickly, she slipped through, ending up in a large sewage pipe, as she relit her flame. I’ll need to change later.

She quickly dashed down the pipe at top speed, trying to see if there was anything special, but after a few moments and a few hundred metres, she realised there was nothing to the pipe. Nothing here. On my way back up.

Silen sighed. It was worth a shot, but no one was able to identify the sound. Silen tried changing it a bit, playing it backwards, but still no dice: it was just as indistinguishable. While he was trying to do that, the telepathic girl, Kara apparently, started going on a massive explanation spree of all that had happened. He didn't pay too much attention to it; most of the information she shared, he already knew, due to having been listening to every room in the building. Still he learned of some stuff that had to be seen, like the content of the letters and the bomb. "Alright, I'll stay around here for a bit." he sent to back. He didn't care for the bossy tone of the girl, but he was going to stay on that floor anyway. "You can call me Thief of Sound, by the way. Or just Thief. Or anything other than Insecure One really." He wasn't sure how happy he was that she knew so much about him already, but he had more important stuff to focus on.

Next, he decided to answer to the girl upstairs. "Yeah, I've been hearing this floor since the start, uh, since right now. I just begun hearing it now. It was a nice coincidence really." Silen breathed a sigh of relief as he caught that last part in time; it probably wasn't a good idea to admit he'd basically been spying on everyone, especially with what happened earlier. Thankfully he was able to preform that amazing save. "If you need anything from me, just give me a holler. Literally." He had to repay her for earlier anyway.

It was time to focus on that closet. There had to be something there, and he wasn't going to rest until he figured out what it was. Maybe that would be the key to knowing just what happened to Presidium. He stepped inside the closet and started feeling around. It was a run-of-the-mill walk-in cleaning closet. Everything seemed pretty normal... wait. One wall is colder than the rest. SIlen knocked on the wall, but it seemed to be perfectly solid. "Damn. So much for a secret entrance." He was stumped for ideas for the moment, so he decided to continue looking around while waiting for this Zander to show up. Maybe together they'd have a better shot at solving this mystery.

"Okay! I'm Zeal, by the way. What's your name?" she responds cheerily as she looked through the news around Windemere. Strange. Nothing mentioned electrical villains or anything shady with electricity. Confused, she took a quick look at the url-oh. Oh. C:/Users/Dimitrius/Images/TRUTHHawks.png. That's a computer file somewhere. And who the heck was Dimitrius? She'd have to get this info to Kara- wait, how did she get the info about anything on her floor? ...Oh, she could read thoughts, couldn't she. Telepath. Well, that's embarrassing. Oh well.

Panting after the long climb, Jiyu half-staggered back into the room on the 14th floor. The room was in a similar state as before, though more documents were strewn about the table. Zeal was standing about holding the bottles, trying to investigate the contents of the one with the white cap. Maybe Jiyu could figure out what was inside them if she had them closer to her.

She called out to Zeal, "Hey, can I see those bottles?"

"Oh, uh, yeah!" responded Zeal, who turned toward Jiyu with the white-capped bottle still open.

"Careful not to touch what's inside! And Marvelous, try opening those cases."

"It's uh, it's Celeste right now. But I, ah, I got it."

Celeste made her way over to the other stacked boxes that were in the room, and heaved on off the other. Glancing down at them, and back the collections of blood she had in her possession, she began tapping flecks over the boxes. The first: nada. The second however, had the telltale click as the locks disengaged and flew open. Her minuscule seconds of joy immediately faded, as the boxes revealed a second leg, matching the one found the box below, and a bloodied handsaw; presumably our murder weapon. Holding her tongue, she stepped back from the boxes, clutching the datacard in her pocket as the bodypart was revealed to the world.

"If this was our first stunt together, what's next?"

Almost by habit now, she analysed the blood on the saw and the leg. The leg was once again drained, but had that hint of O negative. The saw was coated in both the O negative and A positive blood, but had a splash of AB positive on the handle. Seems whoever our robed figure was had his hand on this handle. Marvelous turned to Jiyu and Zeal, a warning about mystery liquids on her lips as...

She makes a small noise of general affirmation as she starts walking over, phone in hand. Dimtrius was someone related to all of this, and so she was more focused on her research. So much so, that she didn't take note of the sneaky ******* curtain that had lumped its way in front of her. Said sneaky ******* curtain also caught on her foot as she tried to lift it up and- "****."

She falls over, trying to keep the bottle from spilling over, but a drop manages to get onto the curtains. It hisses, burning a hole right through the fabric, and a click echoes elsewhere in the apartment. She looks at the hole with general curiosity and dissipating panic from the moment before. Huh. Damn good thing she didn't assume whatever the hell that was is water.

"Uh... what was that?" the voice echoes up from below.

"Dunno! It happened when I spilled something, so I don't think it's a coincidence."
