@Bunnie Thank you! I've seen some of the eeveelutions and they do have really cute sprites, so I wouldn't be against catching an Eevee.

@Pendraflare Thanks! You'll find out in a minute.

After some going back and forth between different team possibilities, I decided to add both Titania and Coral to the team while Fubuki and Ryuuko will move to the bench for now. Titania can rival Fubuki's great physical defense while Coral is a special wall. I also really wanted a proper water type move on the team because the only move I have to hit fire types is Rock Tomb on Bella.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-114.png

Time to make our way through the dark to Steven. I didn't bother to give anyone Flash because this cave isn't all that challenging. For Kanto's Rock Tunnel I usually pull out a guide, but this one I can easily navigate without one.

I safely meet up with Steven to hand him the letter and get the perfect TM in return. I know Titania will learn it naturally later on, but there aren't really that many other Pokemon who I would teach this move to, so I would rather give her a Steel STAB move right now.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-123.png

Before going to the gym, I decided to get a couple of more levels on my Pokemon and bring the whole team up to lv. 18. I upped the levels by 10% so we should still have a challenge like this.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-127.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-134.png

Some cutie Moemon the gym trainers had. I really like that Vaporeon, can't wait to see what the other Eeveelutions look like.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-129.png

Oh god no. Satan is back.

I wasn't fortunate enough to have Erika out in the front this time and its Shadow Tag prevented me from swapping out.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-131.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-132.png

I managed to slowly whittle down its health with Rock Tomb, healing up every time it went for Counter. I had it in range for a KO, but I had to stall a couple of times with Defense Curl as it kept going for Destiny Bond. Eventually, I managed to take it out without any casualties.

Conclusion, Wobbuffet are scary.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-138.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-139.png

Here we go!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-140.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-141.png

So far, so good. Definitely got lucky with that type match-up there.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-142.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-143.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-145.png

I almost managed to knock it out, but it had gone for 3 Screeches by this point before Brawly healed back up to full. I didn't want to risk a sudden physical move taking me out from full, so I swapped out.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-146.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-147.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-149.png

This Huntail was a little tricky, but I eventually took it out.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-150.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-151.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-152.png

We are definitely a little underleveled for this fight, but this gives me an idea of how much I will need to train for the rival and gym battles in the future.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-153.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-154.png

Phew! There we go! Bella pulled through and wasn't fazed by the confusion, landing the final hit.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-155.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-156.png

Another gym badge won! I decided to hold onto the TM for Bulk Up right now until we maybe get a Fighting type in the future.

This was a bit of a shorter part, but I think I will end things here.

Next time, we'll head to Slateport City and catch some more cute Moemon!

Seeing Milotic's back sprite, that sure reminds me of Oichi from Pokemon Conquest. I mean, just look at her. :hmmazurill:

Omg I have a new favorite in Coral! Milotic is precious in general, but that's really adorable!
Glad yoiu had a safe battle with Brawley!

@SAF You're right! I can see the resemblance!

@Calaf Thank you. ^^

@Moxie I've never gotten to use Milotic before so I'm really happy to use one this time!

Off to Slateport we go!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-158.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-159.png

The beach part in front of Slateport is a new route, so I can get a fishing encounter here now. I will have to keep an eye on which water routes I already got encounters from so I don't get double ones once Surfing becomes available.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-161.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-162.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-169.png

Ekans and Arbok aren't bad Pokemon but not exactly what the team needs right now either. I'm really liking that Moemon sprite though! Especially the striped socks and the long ponytail.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-163.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-164.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-165.png

Some snapshots of cute Moemon I encountered while fighting the trainers on the beach and in the beach house. Magcargo looks nothing like its Pokemon counterpart but it is so adorable.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-172.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-173.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-175.png

Time to continue with the plot. I remember I got stuck in Slateport for quite a while as a young teen. Emerald was my first game (alongside LG) and I was about ten at the time so my English wasn't good enough to understand all of this.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-176.png

I like how their museum is being invaded by bad guys, but they still make sure to charge you the entrance fee.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-178.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-179.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-180.png

One thing I like about R/S/E is how the evil team is present from the very start of the game and you have a lot of smaller encounters with them. Sun/Moon and USUM did a pretty good job at this as well, but then there's other games like X/Y where Team Flare doesn't come into play until you're already a couple hours into the game.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-181.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-182.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-183.png

A pretty Medicham sprite and a great addition to Colar's movepool! The upcoming rival fight should be no problem with a bulky Water type on our side.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-185.png

The second grunt had this Clefable which is very...interesting looking. Definitely some fan service for the boys right there.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-189.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-190.png

Archie heard fan service and appears with his shirt which looks like it has his whole chest out on the small sprite. It's pretty low cut but the sprite makes it look like he's only wearing half a shirt in the front.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-192.png

We finally finish this long, long errand and are free to go wherever we want~

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-193.png

Which is up to route 110 to get our first grass encounter in quite some time.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-195.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-196.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-204.png

Not going to lie, Umbreon is probably my least favorite of the Eeveelutions but I recently got given one for my upcoming Soul Silver Scramble, so I think I will box Luna until we really need her.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-218.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-219.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-220.png

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-201.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-203.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-207.png

I decided to train a little before proceeding after being underleveled for the last gym, when this happened! Definitely an improvement over Gloom's usual look. This is also when I realized that the Oddish line does not get Mega Drain by level up in this generation, so I decided to swap out Absorb for Bullet Seed. Even with only 2 hits, it is still a lot stronger.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-212.png

I also realized there's a small bit of water which already registers as Slateport City so I got one more encounter. The Bold nature is unfortunate but I might consider adding her in the past if I want a bulky Fighting type.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-221.png

This is what the team looks like after training!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-225.png

The first trainer battle I get into after training looks like this and I just had to take a screenshot of it. Those poses are so similar, it made me giggle. Also I love how Erika's health bar is doubling as subtle censorship. No panty shots today!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-232.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-246.png

Mother and child. I really like both of these sprites, especially Cubone's.

Anyway, I cleared all of the trainers on route 103 and also did the Trick House but nothing spectacular happened so I didn't take any screenshots.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-242.png

I got this Octillery when fishing on route 103 but afterwards I realized that route 103 is the one right above Odale Town as well so we already got a grass encounter there. Sorry Marina, you are illegal and will have to do. Also am I immature for getting a giggle out of that sprite in combination with the ability description?

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-247.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-248.png

Let's finish off this part with an exciting rival battle!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-250.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-252.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-254.png

That was surprisingly easy. The Combusken is definitely less of a threat now that I have Coral on my side.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-256.png

A little gift for beating Brendan. I don't use the Itemfinder nearly enough in Pokemon games but I will try my best to think of it this time! Extra healing items and Pokeballs could always come in handy.

Next time I'll clear the remaining of this route and hopefully arrive in Mauville City!

I safely made it to Mauville City! There were a couple of more battles along the way, but no close calls or anything worth showing. I really wish I could show every cute Moemon sprite but I often forget to take screenshots.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-5.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-6.png

A little question for all of you ー Which bike do you usually go with? I've always picked the Mach bike first ever since I was a child. Perhaps because it is the first option but I can't recall using the Acro bike much unless I really needed it.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-9.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-10.png

I also met up with Wally again who wants to battle to prove himself to his uncle. There wasn't an option to make sure Wally keeps his Ralts, so I wonder if we will see something random rather than his usual Kirlia.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-11.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-12.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-14.png

That definitely wasn't a Kirlia. Also not something I want to have Akane out against. She is only a couple of levels away from evolutions and her frailness as a baby Pokemon is starting to show. I really hope we can keep her alive until she becomes a Magmar.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-15.png

I am definitely not ready to take on the gym yet with the 10% raise in levels, so I decided to try and clear the routes around Mauville first. Now that I have a Bicycle, I can do the trainers on the Bicycle Road as well.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-16.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-18.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-19.png

Small compilation of some cute Moemon I encountered while fighting the trainers on route 117.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-20.png

Can't forget about the encounter here either. I am fairly happy with my team right now, but something like a strong Electric type would not be bad.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-23.png

I hope you believe me when I say that I screamed when this popped up on the screen. After having to end my other Emerald run early, I was extremely bummed out because one of the things that made me excited for that run was being to use Ralts as my starter. The Ralts line is one of my all-time favorites and Gardevoir looks amazing as a Moemon. Which is no surprise.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-24.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-25.png

There is only one fitting name for her. Princess Serenity has returned and she became a Queen.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-26.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-27.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-28.png

This is the second time I got lucky with a Pokemon that knows Teleport but doesn't use it. I did put her asleep before weakening which had been a good call, looking back on it.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-29.png

I could not pass up on this opportunity, so Hotaru will be placed in the box for now. Serenity is better overall and I think she will get Psychic very early in this generation as well.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-35.png

I safely made it to Verdanturf Town but there isn't much we can do now. I will come back here after I can use Rock Smash to help the two people in the tunnel.

Speaking of which...

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-38.png

I picked up the TM for Rock Smash earlier and decided to teach it to Bella to give her something to hit other Normal types.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-39.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-36.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-42.png

After that, I went around to battle all the trainers left to defeat before the gym. I didn't bother to show everything, but here's some of the highlights. That Absol is just too cute for words.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-49.png

After some additional training in the grass, this is what my team looks like. I made sure I wouldn't be underleveled this time because I've grown quite attached to these cuties and I don't want to lose any of them.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-50.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-51.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-53.png

The gym trainers seem quite low in level, but I think we should be up to par with the gym leader.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-56.png

Four Pokemon in total, here we go!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-57.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-58.png

I always lead off with Bella because she only has one weakness so the chances of a Fighting type coming out are rather slim. This works out perfectly because we have Rock Tomb!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-59.png

There is the fighting type I spoke off! Thankfully, they are no threat any longer now that we have a reliable Psychic type user on the team!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-60.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-61.png

Exeggutor's Confusion did over half in just one attack which was a little scary, but Akane pulled it off with Fire Punch.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-62.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-63.png

Akane is probably my best bet against this as well, but we need to heal up first.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-66.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-67.png

Another victory for the team! Two more levels until we have a beautiful Magmar. I feel like I'm raising those death flags.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-68.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-69.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-70.png

Shock Wave will be a nice coverage move on Serenity because her previous moveset left her unable to hit Dark types.

The Dynamo Badge also gives us access to using Rock Smash, so next time we can proceed up North to the volcano!

Personally a Mach bike user when I was younger. My brother and I always took opposing things so when he took acro, I took Mach. Though I thought I had the advantage cause mach was faster! Got really confused and frustrated on why I couldn’t cross those beams on the way to fortree city

Nice win~ Watson was surprisingly lower level than I thought with the slight increase in levels tho. Hopefully serenity is here to stay this time!

Oh my gosh the sprites are adorably cute! Great job making it all the way to the third gym without any deaths! I really hope Akane is able to make it and evolve into a Magmar.

@SkylarAlpha I know right? I've used up all my locke in this one challenge, I'm never getting good encounters again in any of my future projects.

@LRachelR5 Thank you! The team really has some power right now!

@SAF She will destroy everyone with her Moon Prism Power~ Too bad she isn't a Fairy type because this isn't a hack. So no Moonblast, unfortunately.

@Moxie I expected him to be a little higher as well, although it's been a while since I played Gen III so I don't remember the vanilla levels either.

@HeyItsSamanthaJ Thank you!! This mod is amazing. Huge props to all the people who worked on those sprites. They really nailed it with the cuteness factor.

The first thing I did now that I can use Rock Smash outside of battle was help out this poor couple who just wants to be reunited. Poor Bella is slowly becoming my HM slave but at least Strength is a decent move at 80 BP and it gets STAB as well.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-3.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-5.png

Time to continue forward on route 111! Here I decided to challenge the famous Winstrate family who can be a little tricky depending on what they have since I won't be able to heal in between.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-12.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-14.png

I was going to take screenshots of all of them, but I forgot so the end of the final battle will have to do. None of them had anything too threatening, so I could defeat them all with Titania. The mother had a Blissey which gave out a huge chunk of EXP. so that was nice.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-17.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-18.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-19.png

I did take screenshots of these two because they are somewhat iconic characters of the Hoenn games! Double Battles were so revolutionary back then but nowadays I tend to try and avoid them in the never games. I would rather just do two single battles.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-21.png

I did not get an encounter on route 111 yet, but we can get one here on route 112!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-25.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-26.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-30.png

Aerodactly looks so cute as a Moemon with that little fang. I actually wouldn't be opposed to using Naomi, but that means I would have to replace Titania. Let me know what you guys would prefer!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-34.png

Fiery Path is up next, so I can get one more encounter before proceeding. This should be obvious, but I am also battling all the trainers on the way. If no close calls appear, I will not be showing them because they parts would get really long.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-36.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-36.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-37.png

Nidoqueen can be really strong but I already have a Poison type on the team so for now, I don't really need to add her. It's great power in the PC at least!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-40.png

Remember that adorable Wingull? Pelipper is just as cute! I really wish I would have gotten this as my first encounter.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-41.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-42.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-44.png

I forgot that this part of the game is basically just you running around from one route to the other and battling trainers along the way. I apologize if this a little boring. From the next part onwards, the plot should start kicking again!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-46.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-47.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-68.png

Not a bad encounter and another cute sprite! I don't have a whole lot of grass types in the PC right now, so it's good to know I have a good back-up in case something happens to Erika.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-48.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-49.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-50.png

Some cute Moemon for all of you. That Espeon is beyond adorable. If I get an Eevee, I know what I'm evolving it in.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-52.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-53.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-54.png

Akane made it all the way to evolution! I honestly wasn't too confident about keeping a baby Pokemon alive in a Nuzlocke, but it was worth it. It's a bit of a shame that her physical attack is so much higher because Fire Punch is always special in this case, but the difference isn't too big at least.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-57.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-58.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-59.png

This route had so many cute Moemon, I took a bunch of screenshots. That Wigglytuff is living the idol life.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-62.png

Finally made it to Fallabor Town, but the journey isn't over just yet. We need to proceed just a little further to continue the story.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-72.png

I could have sworn Bella would have been able to learn Dig! That's a bit of a shame but I suppose I can hang onto this TM for now.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-75.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-85.png

Route 114 and Meteor Falls encounters! Neither of these are amazing right away, but they definitely have potential. I remember saying that I really wanted a Sceptile on the team because of how cute the sprite is, but I also don't want to give up Erika.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-93.png

Finally some plot!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-94.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-95.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-96.png

The two teams clash! This is where I get the praise the plot of the gen III games. I like how they gave us such a large difference between Ruby and Sapphire with a different evil team and then in Emerald, the two stories come together and you get to learn about both of them more.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-101.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-102.png

Pokemon really needs to make their Professors a little smarter. They seem to like the trope of the clumsy/naive Professor a lot... *looks at Elm*

ー And with that, I will end it here! Next time we will backtrack (hooray) and check out what is happening on Mt. Chimney.

You've got a pretty good team there! And I agree, I loved the two teams and how they interacted, was always a favorite part of those games. Good luch continuing on!

@DeepSeaPrincess Thank you! I definitely have gotten lucky with my encounters.

@LRachelR5 Right? This is a minor spoiler because I won't get to that part in this update, but I actually caught a Jigglypuff on route 111 (the dessert) and now I'm really tempted to use it.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-0.png

Remember how I talked about possibly changing out Titania for Naomi last episode?

Well, I tried to train her in between updates, but a ruthless wild Wobbuffet made the decision for me. I was being very carefully, whittling down its health with Bite till I thought it was in range for a Wing Attack KO. Unfortunately, the thing lived on 1 HP and countered Naomi to death.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-1.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-2.png

First death of the series. Fortunately, I have a trained up Flying type in the back so I guess this just means less grinding for me.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-4.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-6.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-7.png

Up to Mt. Chimney we go! I remember really liking this small cutscene when I first played the games, but now it really isn't anything special compared to the graphics in the recent games.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-8.png

Team Aqua is here to join the party as well!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-9.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-10.png

Made quick work of these grunts and admin. I honestly didn't even realize I was fighting Tabitha at first because the Admin sprites in these games aren't very memorable.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-11.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-13.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-22.png

I left out a big part of Maxie's speech here because it would take up too much space. Poor Maxie suffers from anime villain syndrome where he reveals all of his plans to the protagonist/hero rather than just jumping straight to the battle.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-24.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-25.png

Uhm.

Maxie. You do realize that's a WATER type, right?

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-28.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-30.png

His two first Pokemon go down easily.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-31.png

Now this is actually something fitting! Guess he took some advice from Flannery on which fire type Pokemon to use.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-34.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-35.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-36.png

These bad guys sure give up easily. Good thing they're not actually evil, or they would just push you into the lava and goodbye enemy.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-43.png

I'll be returning this to the Professor later on, but for now I want to continue with the main plot and head towards the next gym.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-45.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-52.png

A very fitting Pokemon to get in this area. Cyndaquil is adorable and Typhlosion probably a little stronger than Magmar is, but I've put so much effort into keeping Akane alive till evolution, it feels wrong to just ditch her now in favor of something stronger. At least I know I have a back-up fire type now.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-49.png

Small intermission to show off this Muk Moemon. Definitely a big difference with its Pokemon counterpart.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-57.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-58.png

I think we deserve a little hot springs break for saving the entire region from a possible volcano eruption earlier.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-62.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-63.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-64.png

There aren't a lot of these in R/S/E, but gift Pokemon and eggs are randomized as well! Out of the Wynaut egg, we get the much more useful Slowking. I got a Slowking to use for my upcoming SS Scramble, so I probably won't be using it, but at least it's there if needed.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-70.png

Anyway, it's time for the main attraction. Time to go take on Flannery!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-71.png

Oh boy. I don't remember this gym puzzle at all. I might be here for a while.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-75.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-76.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-77.png

Getting to the gym leader wasn't too much of a struggle, but I did find myself accidentally jumping over the ledges couple of times which brought me back to one of the beginning parts. Either way, we're here now!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-78.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-79.png

A Moemon we haven't seen before! Now I'm curious what Noctowl will look like.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-79.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-80.png

So far this gym is a bit...underwhelming.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-81.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-82.png

I am fairly even in term of levels, but Flannery is struggling with a pretty big Rock weakness here.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-83.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-84.png

Her last Pokemon isn't weak to Rock, but it's also not particularly strong. Thankfully, we're getting close to lv. 36 with the gym leaders levels. From Norman onwards, they should have all fully evolved Pokemon which will hopefully make this a little more challenging.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-85.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-86.png

Another badge to add to the collection. I could teach Overheat to Akane but I feel like it isn't really worth it. Fire Punch is strong enough for now.

Wobbuffet really is a nuisance. Sucks that you've had your first death. Hopefully there won't be any more, you have really solid team and I'd hate for any of them to die. I also noticed that Erika is still listed as an Oddish in the team section.

Geez I've missed a handful of updates x_x But WOW that's a brutal way to lose a Pokemon, Counter from a Wobbuffet. Glad you made it this far before you had one, though! And you have some good stuff abound, so props for making it through another Gym.

@HeyItsSamanthaJ Yeah! > < They're absolutely the worse to any Nuzlocker! The worst part is, in a Randomizer you never know when to expect them.

Ah! Thank you for pointing that out! I'll go and fix it!

@Pendraflare It's okay! Updates will be a bit slower now that I've also got the Pokemon Hunger Games going on.

As soon as I left the gym, Brendan shows up to give us a very interesting item. Now we can finally access the desert area!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-89.png

Here we are! In Emerald they added the tower, so we can get two encounters here rather than just one. Actually, if you count the fossil, we can get three new Moemon!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-91.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-92.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-93.png

After seeing how cute Wigglytuff's sprite is, I was really tempted to add her to the team, but it would be a pain to train her up and I think my team is rather solid right now.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-96.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-97.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-98.png

Some cute Moemon designs. I especially like the Clamperl with the pearl as a bun. The Sharpedo sprite is very fitting as well.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-99.png

Mirage Tower is up next!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-100.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-103.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-110.png

I usually don't like Fearow because of its design, but the Moemon mod makes it so much better. That nature is a little unfortunate though.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-106.png

Both of these will be randomized but I don't know which is which, so it really doesn't matter much which one I pick. You can make a log of your randomized ROM but I didn't because it's more fun when everything is a surprise.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-113.png

I finished up the desert and defeated all the trainers there so I decided to do some more of the Trick House as well. Nothing special happened, so I didn't take any screenshots.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-117.png

Time to backtrack a little and return to Petalburg to take on the 5th gym!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-124.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-125.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-126.png

Not the most exciting thing and once again a Bold nature on a physical attacker. Ouch.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-129.png

I've made it back to Petalburg City where it is finally time to take on dad! This is usually a fairly tough gym battle but with everything randomized, we hopefully won't have to face a Slaking.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-131.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-133.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-134.png

Some screenshots from the Pokemon of the gym trainers. That Teddiursa is seriously too cute.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-140.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-141.png

I think the levels of this gym will be early 30s so we won't be seeing forced fully evolved Moemon just yet. The next gym should definitely have them though!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-142.png

Technically this is a fully evolved Pokemon, but nothing too scary. The sprite is quite cute though.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-143.png

Norman might have just dug his own grave by going for Flatter. The confusion is a little annoying to deal with, but Gardevoir with raised Special Attack is a real threat.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-146.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-149.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-151.png

As to be expected, a clean sweep from there on. He also had a Wooper but I forgot to take a screenshot of it fainting. However, I think you get the image.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-152.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-153.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-154.png

Five badges in, which means we're about half way done with the game now. There's only 4 gyms left but we still have to do quite a bit of Team Aqua and Magma stuff.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-155.png

Before even leaving the gym, Wally's dad shows up to drag you to their house.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-156.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-157.png

Water Pulse was quite strong on its own, but now Coral will be even more powerful!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-158.png

Now that we have Surf, they remove the option to return to Slateport by boat so I guess we'll have no other choice but to go that way.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-160.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-175.png

Route 105 and route 108 encounters! On the other water routes, I had already gotten an encounter way back with the Old Rod.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-178.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-184.png

While at it, I decided to do the Abandoned Ship sidequest as well. I wasn't able to complete it without Dive, but it was worth it to get the TM for Ice Beam! I totally forgot they hand it out this early in this gen.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-192.png

I've made it back to Slateport! This part of the game is also quite boring as you just clear a bunch of routes, so I will be speeding through this for the most part.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-193.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-197.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-206.png

Before heading towards Fortree City, there's one more little sidequest I wanted to do because it's an easy way to get another really good TM.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-201.png

My New Mauville encounter. Nothing too exciting since it can't evolve in this generation.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-208.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-209.png

This is what I'm more excited about! Shock's Wave perfect accuracy can come in clutch, but overall Thunderbolt is just a way better move. Right now, both Serenity and Coral are the powerhouses of the team with some really strong moves under their belt.

This part was a little all over the place, but next time I will finally head East towards Fortree City and hopefully get to the Weather Institute to do the Team Aqua stuff.

After going around the place to do a bunch of little side quests last time, we're back on track with the main plot today! A quick Surf across this body of water will bring us to our destination~

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-213.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-214.png

Steven shows up here for a small talk, but this appearance doesn't really have much significance otherwise. Too bad he does not give us a Latias or Latios like he does in the remakes.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-216.png

I totally forgot about this route and can't remember where it even brings you. I'll probably keep this for grinding later because I'm pretty sure that Fortree City is up north.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-218.png

Yes, this looks more like it. Let's see what we can get in this tall grass!

It's the little baby version of the Metagross I have been using in the Nuzlocke Hunger Games! However, I do not feel like going through all that training so don't expect a Metagross in this run as well.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-225.png

Two other cuties. That Crobat is adorable and Wailord is very...fitting.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-226.png

A couple of trainer battles later and I've reached the Weather Institute! Seems like Team Aqua is up to no good once again.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-227.png

But first it's time for a nap!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-229.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-230.png

It's pink Moemon galore in here! That Lickitung girl looks more like Lickilicky though, especially the head.

That's some pretty aggressive dialogue for a kid's game. If someone had said that to me when I was 10, I would have probably cried and ran away. Children in the Pokemon world are tough.

Shelly must be a fan of dogs since she had two canine Pokemon. Both very cute, but not very strong.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-241.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-242.png

Mt. Pyre is still about an hour of gameplay away so I doubt I would have remembered this when I was little.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-246.png

Wait. This isn't randomized??

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-248.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-286.png

Nevermind, it is randomized after all. A little odd how the dialogue for reviving the fossils got adapted, bu t

Speaking of grass types, at nearly 6 badges into this game, we finally find a Leaf Stone! Even though Bellossom would have been my first choice, I'm not waiting another 2 badges to finally get a Sun Stone.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-252.png

Erika is looking a lot stronger now! Especially her Special Attack! Would be nice to get something better than Bullet Seed but there aren't a lot of strong Grass type moves in this generation.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-253.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-255.png

As soon as I'm trying to proceed, Brendan comes speeding at us with his bike for a rival battle. Actually, we haven't had a whole lot of them yet. Out of all the games, I feel like gen 3 is kind of underwhelming when it comes to your rival.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-257.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-259.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-260.png

Definitely a little underwhelming. I can't remember what his last Pokemon was and I forgot to take a screenshot but it can't have been anything too strong.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-261.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-263.png

Double Flying stab on Titania because she doesn't really get much coverage anyway.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-265.png

Aaaand I've made it to Fortree City!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-266.png

I would take on the gym, but seems like there's something in the way. I'll figure out what it is and take on the gym next time!

Until then!

After failing to get to the gym last time, I proceeded to route 120 to look for clues.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-270.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-271.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-289.png

Kabutops is one of those Pokemon I've always wanted to use, but it unfortunately isn't very good. Especially in gen 3 where all Water type moves are special by default, I don't see myself using it.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-292.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-293.png

Steven makes another appearance, but this time he is useful and gives you the Devan Scope to reveal the identity of the hidden Pokemon.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-296.png

It doesn't make as much sense with the randomizer, but the hidden Pokemon on this route was a Starmie. It is the same route as Kabutops, so I wouldn't have been able to get it even if it wasn't a dupe.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-303.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-304.png

I thought that maybe we could have a shot at catching the one in front of the gym, but I totally forgot that this one flees rather than battle you.

No big deal! At least we can enter the gym now.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-301.png

This is what my team looks like before going inside. I figured getting everyone up to lv. 38 would be an adequate level.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-306.png

I squeal every time I see that adorable Pelipper sprite. Never before have I wished to use a Pelipper but I'm actually a little bummed I don't have one. I should have played regular Moemon Emerald rather than randomizing it. :P

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-307.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-309.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-310.png

Safely made it to Winona! Hopefully we will be seeing some fully evolved Moemon in this gym!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-311.png

I decided to lead with Titania for once, but this isn't the best thing to go up against. At least Steel type is super effective against Rock.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-313.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-314.png

Actually, it's not a good idea after all so I'm swapping to Coral who can handle this with ease.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-316.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-318.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-320.png

Her next three Pokemon, on the other hand, are easily taken out by Titania.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-321.png

Her last Pokemon is a Noctowl, fully evolved but not the strongest thing. I do like the design though.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-326.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-327.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-328.png

Noctowl tanked Rock Tomb fairly well so I eventually swapped to Serenity to just nuke it with Thunderbolt.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-333.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-335.png

Cue some more traveling around Hoenn until we reach route 121.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-338.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-339.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-343.png

I really like Lanturn and that Moemon design is adorable, but Milotic is better in pretty much every aspect. I also used my Thunderbolt TM on Serenity already.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-340.png

Team Aqua seems to be plotting something again...

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-341.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-342.png

I tried to go to the Safari Zone first, but it seems like we can't get in just yet. It has honestly been too long since I played through gen III, I forgot so much stuff.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-347.png

In that case, I'll head to Mt. Pyre instead. The water before it registers as route 122, so we can get one more encounter before that.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-348.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-349.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-363.png

Nothing exciting here, especially with that Quiet nature.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-356.png

Usually this is the place to be if you want a Ghost type, but let's see what the Randomizer gives us.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-359.png

This is species clause, but I love the Crobat sprite so much, I actually decided to catch it regardless. I have a Zubat in the box but it's a pretty bad nature and training it up would take much longer.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-365.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-366.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-367.png

Still not the best nature, but I think I can make it work. Titania hasn't been doing bad but honestly, Skarmory is a little underwhelming. While Crobat isn't god tier either, I do like the higher speed and attack.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-369.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-370.png

Through the power of grinding, Viola is all caught up with the rest of the team!

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-371.png
Moemon Emerald Randomizer-372.png

I decided to fly back to Dewford Town to pick up the TM for Sludge Bomb. I was originally gonna give it to Erika once I got rid of Cut, but Viola can benefit from it more since it's a physical attack in this gen.

Moemon Emerald Randomizer-358.png

I've made it back to Mt. Pyre, but I will leave that for the next part!
