Hey everyone! I dunno how many people here are into cooking/baking but it's something I truly love to do! I usually cook or bake something daily, and I experiment with healthy low carb and/or paleo friendly options because health is something I care very deeply about. So are there any fellow cooks out there and if so what are your go-to recipes? Here is a recipe I highly recommend bc it's an excellent guilt-free snack that tastes like a very fruity, moist brownie, only much much healthier. I couldn't recommend it more for other health-conscious foodies such as myself~

  • 1 cup raw nuts, such as walnuts or pecans (100g)
  • 1 1/3 cup pitted dates (220 g)
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 3-4 tbsp cocoa or cacao powder
  • optional heaping 1/8 tsp salt (I always add this)
  • optional chocolate chips or broken-up chocolate bar
  • optional chia seeds, shredded coconut, etc.

Instructions
*Medjool dates tend to be softer. If your dates are hard or dry, soak them in boiling water for a few minutes to soften them.
Process all the ingredients in a high-quality food processor until fine crumbles form. (A blender technically works, but texture will be stickier and tougher.) Smush into bars – I like to transfer the crumbles to a ziploc bag and roll out the dough from inside the bag. Chocolate chips can be added before or after processing, and feel free to experiment with different nut combinations.

And if anyone else here is into paleo/keto/whole foods diets that's amazing and you should totally post here!!

that's a lovely thread!! i love cooking and baking, even though i don't have the opportunity to do it often at the moment. But i really hope that at some point i'll be able to go to a culinary/baking school and do it as my job!

I'm not super concerned about health to be honest, but i definitely want to learn to balance taste and health benefits in the things I make. I'm very interested in learning more about this topic, like finding out healthy alternatives to common ingredients, and stuff like that!

I'm going to save this recipe you recommended, it looks really good :droolazurill:
