dumb pokemon rumors you heard

I remember as a kid I went to summer camp one year, and one of the kids there said that in flocessy ranch in BW2, there was a specific patch of grass that was guaranteed to get you a shiny Riolu. I was pretty resistant against these kinds of things by then, but I still believed him.

Strangely enough, I never heard of pressing B to catch Pokemon. Or any other button combo, for that matter.

One rumor that did get into my head was the idea of Crystal Steelix in Mt. Silver. The rumor probably originated with Gen II but since I started off with HeartGold I thought it must be there as well. I spent quite a while running around the upper levels of Mt. Silver, trying to investigate every possible object that might give me any clues.

In hindsight, cuz u level up your pokemon its probably true in some form but for a 6yo kid soloing with a Feraligatr.... nah

that’s so funny, when i was in elementary i also heard this rumor, from someone on YouTube i think, i was really frustrated when it didn’t work. i could’ve sworn i also believed rumors similar to “mewthree” and that kind of stuff, but i don’t remember the any of the specifics though

A rumour spread in south India: it said that if you'd defeat and not catch Mesprit, Uxie and Azelf (and defeat them), you'd get Palkia or Dialga in their caverns. I didn't believe it then, won't do so now XD

When I was younger, as I played Pokémon Gold and Crystal on and on, I fell for a lot of rumors such as pressing different key combinations to ensure a Pokémon catch, or talk to everyone once to unlock Mew/Mewtwo/random legendary Pokémon.
