"All of my new beginnings happen in Sinnoh."
The very first Pokemon game that I ever played was Pokemon Diamond in 2007. Ever since then, the Sinnoh region has been my absolute favorite place to visit in the Pokemon world for many more reasons than it being home. To this day, Pokemon Platinum is my favorite Pokemon game, and one of my favorite games of all time. Therefore, I found this to be the perfect starting point for my Pokemon Challenge Runs! I have never completed a challenge run of any Pokemon game. The first time I truly attempted a challenge run of a Pokemon game was my test run of Pokemon Black 2 as a Nuzlocke. I enjoyed that run, but I was missing something to keep me going and playing the challenge. That is where Marilland comes in! I've watched Marilland for as long as I can remember, and I absolutely love his Pokemon Nuzlockes and Wedlockes on his channel. He recently quit working on videos for the main channel, as many of you may know, and that inspired me to finally start following his website. I got here and found that there is a community in place that will follow challenge runs for people without capture cards! So, here I am! This is the beginning of my very first official Pokemon Challenge Run, Peyton's FIRST Pokemon Platinum Wedlocke!

I will be following all the basic rules of a challenge run for this forum, and I will be using a few additional rules for myself to make the game more interesting. You can check out a lot more detailed explanations of a Wedlocke and the forum challenge run rules here.
1. Pokemon that faint in battle are considered DEAD. They must be released or placed in a death PC box permanently.
2. I can only catch the first Pokemon I encounter on a route after I am able to catch pokemon. There are a few exceptions to this rule that will be in the clauses later, but since this is a Wedlocke, it would be wise for me to point out here that my team will consist of 3 pairs of male and female pokemon. This will often invoke Gender Clause. Gender Clause in a Wedlcoke is that, if you have a Pokemon that needs a partner pokemon to complete the pair, they must be paired with a pokemon of the opposite gender, whether it is from the wild or the PC. For example, if I start out with a male Piplup, I will not count any male encounters that I may run into before finding a female encounter for Piplup, since I don't have any female pokemon in the PC.
3. Pokemon must be nicknamed. This is just to add to the story and gain some attachment towards each team member.
4. Dupes Clause: This is a clause that I am adding because this is my first official playthrough, and I don't want to lose any potential encounters. I will not count a pokemon as an encounter if I already have that pokemon, or another in its evolution line. Dupes Clause in this playthrough will take effect 5 times at the max, meaning that if I have a starly and I run into 5 wild starly in a route that I could catch a pokemon on, I lose my encounter for that area.
5. Shiny Clause: If I run into a shiny at full odds in a game before the shiny rates got cut in half, I am going to catch the shiny. It's as simple as that haha.
6. Gift Clause: Gift Pokemon will count as the encounter for the route or the city that they are given in. I will be counting my starter Pokemon as my Twinleaf Town encoutner, just so that I can get an encounter on the first route.
7. Male Combee Clause: If I encounter a male Combee, it does not count as my encounter for that area. Male Combee do not evolve, and are genuinely useless.
8. All other general Wedlocke rules apply, so go check out the link above for the specifics of a Wedlocke. Basically, it is a Nuzlocke where my team is split into 3 pairs of pokemon. ONLY the two pokemon in a pair can participate in a single battle, and if one dies the other must be sent out (for REVENGE).
9. LEVEL LIMITS: I will be imposing level limits on myself for this challenge. Meaning, my pokemon can only be at the level of the strongest pokemon a gym leader has before I enter the gym battle. If a pokemon exceeds the level limit before it is raised, it must be put in the PC until the level limit has been raised to accomodate its level, which also means that if one pokemon in a pair goes over the limit, neither will be able to participate in battle. If my pokemon surpass the level limit during the battle with the gym leader that set that limit, it's fine. Level Limits are as follows:
  1. Roark- Lv. 14
  2. Gardenia- Lv. 22
  3. Fantina- Lv. 26
  4. Maylene- Lv. 32
  5. Crash Crash Crasher Wake- Lv. 37
  6. Byron- Lv. 41
  7. Candice- Lv. 44
  8. Volkner- Lv. 50
  9. The Elite Four and Cynthia- Lv. 62
If my pokemon surpass level 62 after I enter the Elite Four, it will not break the rules of the level limit.

10. I will not be looking up any information on what pokemon or moves any trainer will be using in the game. I've played Platinum a lot, but I don't have that much of the game memorized. So, no insight on the gym leader's pokemon or what moves they're carrying. I even looked at a list of levels for the level limits, so I am pretty much clueless as to what the gym leaders have or the elite four except by memory. Who could forget that Garchomp :garchomp: ?
11. I may only use 2 healing items per battle and I may not use stat enhancing items, such as X Attack. Held items are fine!

I have played Pokemon Platinum countless times, but I have never used a Piplup in any playthrough of the game, surprisingly. Therefore, I will be choosing Piplup  as my starter pokemon for this journey! It only seems fitting to do so with this being my first official challenge run of a Pokemon game! So without further ado, here is my FIRST Pokemon Platinum Wedlocke!

Can I just say that the intro music to the title screen of Platinum is the most hype intro music I think I have ever heard in a Pokemon game? Love it. We begin this long and cold journey with Professor Rowan showing us a Buneary :buneary: and making sure that I am a boy named Peyton and that my friend is a fast individual named Barry. Fun fact, Barry's theme when you encounter him is my favorite rival music, and the battle theme isn't that bad. The game opens up and I'm watching a broadcast about Professor Rowan returning from Kanto, something us long-time Pokemon fans have done countless times, I mean at least 3. Then I get greeted by Barry, but more importantly Barry's music. This fast-paced jam actually reminded me that I need to turn on fast text. So, Barry wants us to go get our starter Pokemon from Professor Rowan, but we can't go into tall grass. Barry, being the patient individual he is, tries to rush into the tall grass of Route 201 like a maniac, and Rowan stops us. He scolds us harshly, but clearly sees the fire in us to be outstanding Pokemon trainers. So, Professor Rowan entrusted me with my very first pokemon in this journey, Piplup  . However, before I could properly get to know my new best friend, Barry challenged me to a battle with his unending patience and understanding. Barry had a Level 5 male Turtwig :turtwig: that got to raise its defense fully before Piplup eventually pounded it into the ground, but no worries, Barry cheats and his pokemon do not die after we fight. Turtwig likes the ground anyway! This caused Piplup to level up to Level 6. We went home afterwards and got the most important item of all, the running shoes! Barry and I decided to take a nostalgic trip to the lake by our hometown before heading off on our journeys, but we ran into a strange and empty blue-haired man babbling about the flowing time and the explanding space. He said his name was Cyrus, and told the Legendary Pokemon of the lake to rest well until he came back for it. Weird. I didn't encounter anything on Route 201 before I got to Sandgem Town, but if I did it wouldn't count until I got poke balls. It was there that I entered Professor Rowan's lab and he officially gave me Piplup to have as a partner. Therefore, I would like for you to meet the first member of the team, the male Piplup, Frost  .
Piplup.png

Frost has joined the team!
Then I got the least important device in any nuzlocke or nuzlocke variant, the Pokedex, from Professor Rowan. He also gave me TM27 Return! That will be very good on someone, I just don't know who yet. Oh yeah, Dawn exists. She got a Chimchar :chimchar: . I went back home and told my mom that I was going on a big journey, then Dawn taught me how to catch a pokemon for the hundreth time. However, she did give me poke balls! So, this is the start of the Wedlocke challenge! I went ahead and bought 3 potions, 10 poke balls for the premier ball, and 2 antidotes, because you can't be too careful in a challenge like this. I back-tracked to Route 201 and fought encounters that didn't count until I finally caught a Level 2 female Bidoof :bidoof: to be Frost's partner, woopee :joyousazurill:.
Piplup.png
bidoof female.png

♀Mama Barel has joined the team and has been paired with Frost!
Mama Barrel just wouldn't fit. Frost leveled up to Lv. 7 in this process. On Route 202, Gender Clause wasn't going to be an issue because my only pair was full, and I encountered a Lv. 3 male Shinx :shinx: ! I used the Premier Ball on that one.
shinx male.png

♂Thunder has joined the team!
I thought Thunder :shinx: would be a fitting name because you can just imagine how loud a Luxray can roar. Our first real trainer battle out in the wild went well againster Youngster Tristan and his Lv. 5 male Starly :starly: against Frost  . That fight rocketed Frost  to Lv. 8 and he learned Bubble! Two fights later, Frost  defeated Youngster Logan's Lv. 5 male Burmy :burmy: and grew to Lv. 9. Then, I finally made it to Jubilife City's entrance! It was there that I decided that this beginning post was running on a little long, so I will see all of you next time after I do some training on Route 202! I hope to hear your feedback and thoughts in the replies to this post! Thank you so much for taking the time to join me on this journey!

Hey there! Welcome back to my FIRST Pokemon Platinum Wedlocke! This update will take us all the way up to the first Gym Battle! I hope you enjoy!

TRAINING! Nobody likes it, but everybody has to do it. I fought herds of relentless Bidoof :bidoof: that landed 3 critical hits in seperate fights mixed with a few Starly :starly: , Shinx :shinx: , and Kricketot :kricketot: on Route 201 and Route 202, which led to Frost  becoming Lv. 10 and Mama Barel :bidoof: becoming Lv. 9 and learning Growl and Defense Curl! As I entered into Jubilife City, Dawn greeted me and suggested I cheat and catch more pokemon to be safer on my journey. I can see how our relationship is going to go. She was trying to be the smart one and escort me to the Trainers' School when we saw a strange trenchcoat-wearing man running between two lamp posts. He's a pretty fidgety and charming international police agent that insisted we already knew who he was and told us to call him Looker. Looker's music is also the most intense and iconic music in the main franchise, I believe. Looker informed us that there are bad people in Sinnoh stealing other people's pokemon, and that we must inform him of any bad people or "happenings" in the future then bolted. I found Barry in the Trainers' School and delivered the package from his mom with two town maps, and in his great generosity, he gave me my own map. Frost  fought School Kid Harrison's Lv. 6 Starly :starly: like a pro while he used battle items. Frost  had to face School Kid Christine's Lv. 6 female Bidoof :bidoof: next, which must have been very conflicting for him thanks to him being paired with Mama Barel :bidoof: . After that, a crazed salesman told me to find 3 clowns and I would get a cool watch, so of course I did it and got my very own Poketch. Then I found a woman in Jubilife Condominiums that had a Pachirisu :pachirisu: , a Pikachu :pikachu: , and a quick claw for a gift! That quick claw immediately went to Mama Barel :bidoof: . On Route 204, I had a little bit of a difficult time getting an encounter because of Gender Clause, but when I did, it was a Level 4 female Wurmple :wurmple:
shinx male.png
wurmple.png

♀ Random has joined the team and has been paired with Thunder!

I named her Random :wurmple: because you never really know if Wurmple :wurmple: will become a Beautifly or a Dustox. Either way, she certainly was NOT the encounter I was hoping to get on this route, but that's a Wedlocke for you. Mama Barel :bidoof: made her trainer battle debut against Lass Sarah and her Lv. 7 female Shinx :shinx: , which she tanked through easily, she even scored a critical hit! Youngster Tyler wanted to show her the Magikarp :magikarp: his dad gave him, but she took that down too. I decided to head over to Route 203 where I was greeted by Barry's music! Barry started out with a Lv. 7 male Starly :starly: that Frost  handled easily with bubble. Frost  was actually so confident in the battle he grew to Lv. 11 right in front of Barry and learned Water Sport! I sent out Mama Barel :bidoof: to face off against Barry's Lv. 9 male Turtwig :turtwig: . Barry, once again, had Turtwig :turtwig: use Withdraw to raise its defense 5 times before Mama Barel :bidoof: took him out and grew to Lv. 10! After Barry ran off, it was time for my Route 203 encounter, which was a Lv. 7 male Starly :starly: !
starly male.png

♂Egoraptor has joined the team!

Egoraptor :starly: was the perfect name I feel. I went ahead north to the Ravaged Path to grab my encounter, which was a Lv. 5 female Psyduck :psyduck: !

starly male.png
psyduck.png

♀Headache has joined the team and has been paired with Egoraptor!

Headache :psyduck: for all of the reasons. With that, we have a full team of 6 pokemon! The pairs are Frosty  with Mama Barel :bidoof: , Thunder :shinx: with Random :wurmple: , and Egoraptor :starly: with Headache :psyduck: ! I'm pretty happy with how the latest pair turned out considering I had a higher chance of it being a Starly :starly: and a Zubat :zubat: . Now I can catch encounters without worrying about Gender Clause as long as my party is still full. Also, I would just like to mention that I am fighting all the trainers that I can find on any route or area, even if I don't mention them in detail. Youngster Sebastian gave me quite the scare with his Lv. 8 Machop :machop: that I was trying to use Mama Barel :bidoof: to fight. Needless to say, Frost  saved her. Lass Madeline's Lv. 8 female Psyduck :psyduck: landed a critical hit on Mama Barel :bidoof: , but she was the victor in the end growing to Lv. 12! A hiker generously gave me HM06 Rock Smash, which Mama Barel :bidoof: happily learned! Camper Curtis gave me another scare when his Lv. 7 male Shinx :shinx: got a critical hit on Frost  , but he shook it off and became Lv. 12! Picknicker Diana's Lv. 9 female Bidoof :bidoof: got a critical hit on Frost  that didn't hurt much physically, but most likely did mentally. My encounter for Oreburgh Gate was a Lv. 6 female Zubat :zubat: !

zubat female.png

♀Cross Chop has entered the PC!

Upon arriving in Oreburgh City a random kid guided me to the gym where Barry was blocking the entrance. He said the gym leader was tough, and wondered if he was as tough as his dad. After he got done getting lost in thought, he informed us the gym leader was down in the mines. I found a nice girl in a building that gave me a dusk ball as well! I decided to go to Oreburgh Mine immediately for my encounter there and to find Roark. My encounter was a Lv. 7 female Geodude :geodude: .

geodude.png

♀Rolly has entered the PC!

Frost  had a fun time with the Rock and Ground types and grew to Lv. 13! Roark showed off Rock Smash and went back to the gym. I went up to Route 207 and caught my next encounter, a Lv. 5 female Machop :machop: !

machop.png

♀Rosie has entered the PC!

Rosie :machop: as in the riveter. I will allow for trade evolutions if the need arises.

ENTER OREBURGH GYM! The first battle is against Youngster Jonathon and his Lv. 11 male Geodude :geodude: ! Mama Barel :bidoof: really showed off her new love for smashing rocks! Next up was Youngster Darius with a Lv. 9 male Geodude :geodude: and a Lv. 9 male Onix :onix: ! Mama Barel :bidoof: smashed them with ease and grew to Lv. 13! She even learned Rollout! Flashbacks to Whitney's Miltank :miltank: .

vs Roark.jpg

VS. ROARK
First up was a Lv. 12 male Geodude :geodude: . Mama Barel :bidoof: had a hard time handling the rock throws, so Frost  had to step in... right onto some stealth rocks! It was awesome to see a pro strategy in a gym! This caused Frost  to grow to Lv. 14, right at the limit, but also inside the gym leader battle. Next up was a Lv. 12 male Onix :onix: . I should mention Roark used a potion on both of his first two pokemon and I used none up to that point. Finally, the Lv. 14 male Cranidos :cranidos: came out. This pokemon can be a serious threat in challenges. With that being said, Onix :onix: got to use screech on Frost  , and in order to save him, he HAD to switch out. Mama Barel :bidoof: died saving Frost  from Roark's monstrous Cranidos :cranidos: . Frost  got his revenge after lowering Cranidos's :cranidos: speed and getting his two heals. R.I.P. Mama Barel :bidoof: . However, Gym Leader 1: Roark has been defeated! Frost  grew to Lv. 15 in this experience and learned Peck. Out of my three options, I figured Cross Chop :zubat: would be the best option to pair with Frost  .

Piplup.png
zubat female.png

♀Cross Chop has joined the team and has been paired with Frost!

Well, there's that! Thanks so much for reading! I am going to spend time training the ENTIRE party before progressing forward at all. As a reminder, the level limit has now been raised to Level 22. I will also need to pick up an HM buddy pretty soon for rock smash. One last time, R.I.P. Mama Barel :bidoof: .

Good luck on the challenge. Chose a difficult one for your first one. (Only attempted one Nuzlocke, on a different game. Heard it was tough, though.) Which battle(s) are you dreading the most?

Out of curiosity, why did you never choose Piplup before?

Hoped you would get a Shinx with Intimidate. Will definitely need it with that Mild nature. Likes the evolutionary line. Gave it very little to work with, sadly.

@Deva First of all, thanks so much for reading! I have a huge love for Turtwig :turtwig: and Chimchar :chimchar: , so I was always eager to use them in a Platinum playthrough, but I never really got around to using Piplup  . It's not that I don't like it, it's just that I like it a lot less than my other options haha. It's rare that I go with the water starter anyway. I was very satisfied with Intimidate Shinx as well! As for the the fights that I am dreading, I am not really looking forward to Byron. He has very tanky Pokemon, and I don't really foresee me getting any STAB (same-type-attack-bonus) fire type options. Other than that, there are just some general really rough hurdles in this game that you have to leap over. I feel like I've played through the game enough to be decently prepared for all of them, though.

Welcome back! Sorry for the delay in this post, but there was quite a bit to do, as you will soon see, and a lot of progression was made. Without further ado, here is the next update for my FIRST Pokemon Platinum Wedlocke!

Back to the grind! I stayed in Route 207 and Orburgh Mine for a looong while training Frost  and Cross Chop :zubat: which resulted in

prinplup.png

Congratulations! Frost evolved into Prinplup!

Frost  evolved fighting a wild Machop :machop: ! Cross Chop :zubat: was the one that needed the real training. Before I left Orburgh City, Frost  had become Lv. 18 and knew Bubble, Peck, Metal Claw, and Growl and Cross Chop :zubat: had become Lv. 17 and knew Wing Attack, Bite, Supersonic, and Astonish! Wing Attack is like the light at the end of the tunnel for people training a new Zubat :zubat: . On my way out, Barry ran into me and informed me he got his badge and was rushing off to Eterna City to fight the gym, which appears to be our next goal! As I entered Jubilife City again, Looker approached me and reminded me to be careful but that he was leaving because there was clearly no suspicious activity in the area. Riiiight. Instead of immediately proving him wrong, I headed back south to begin training the rest of the party. Route 201 has proven to be a very vicious training ground for wild pokemon, a wild Bidoof :bidoof: got two crits in a row on Random :wurmple: ! Speaking of Random :wurmple:

cascoon.png

Congratulations! Random evolved into Cascoon!

That's right! Random :cascoon: is going to become a Dustox :dustox: ! I think that worked out pretty well. Thunder :shinx: was at Lv. 9 when it happened. I headed back to Route 207 for better exp gains and

dustox female.png

Congratulations! Random evolved into Dustox!

Random :dustox: ALSO learned confusion! Very nice. I painstakingly trained Random :dustox: up to Lv. 17 on Route 207 where she learned protect and gust to add to her confusion and poison sting! After Random :dustox: took up over an hour training,

luxio male.png

Congratulations! Thunder evolved into Luxio!

Thunder :luxio: learned spark and evolved! I got him trained up to Lv. 17 very quickly. After grinding for 3 hours, I decided to just let Egoraptor :starly: and Headache :psyduck: wait just a little while longer to be trained. My main reasoning, however, was that Frost  and Cross Chop :zubat: were already a water/flying duo, and spending a bunch of extra time grinding Egoraptor :starly: and Headache :psyduck: seemed very redundant, especially considering that there will be a much better way to train eventually. Therefore, it was finally time to make actual progress! So back to Looker. He mentioned that there was no criminal activity to be found in Jubilife City, but as I was taking the north exit, I ran into Professor Rowan and Dawn being held up by two men in weird suits and blue hair. They kinda looked like that Cyrus guy... They were demanding Professor Rowan's research, but he snapped back with some harsh life lessons for them, which was actually pretty hilarious. Of course, this was the first Team Galactic battle of the journey. I had to team up with Dawn, so I avoided having to discuss double battles for a bit longer! The Galactic Grunts sent out a Lv. 11 male Stunky :stunky: and a Lv. 11 female Glameow :glameow: . Fun fact, those are two notable Diamond and Pearl exclusives. I sent out Frost  and he easily bubbled them out of the way. They decided to retreat because "Team Galactic is benevolent to all." So, Looker was right! No criminal activity was going on; Team Galactic is benevolent to all! Professor Rowan thanked me and encouraged me to collect all the Gym Badges in Sinnoh, which I'll try my best to do! A Jubilife TV agent saw the battle and decided to give me a free Fashion Case! Mama Barel :bidoof: would have loved it. At this point, I had to replace growl on Frost  for rock smash to move forward. Onward and upward! I picked up TM39 Rock Tomb in the Ravaged Path, and Cross Chop :zubat: made her trainer battle debut against Aroma Lady Taylor with her Lv. 9 female Budew :budew: and Lv. 11 female Cherubi :cherubi: ! She handled it with ease. After a quick bug trainer battle, I ran into the first real double battle. I remembered these two troublemakers from previous playthroughs, so I chose to send out Thunder :luxio: and Random :dustox: against Twins Liv and Liz's two Lv. 11 female Pachirisu :pachirisu: ! That also made this Thunder's :luxio: and Random's :dustox: debut battle. Double battles are interesting in Wedlockes. Both members of your pair are out and vulnerable. There is no switching, and if one of your pokemon are forced to switch, you have to change to the pair of pokemon you get force switched into. Luckily, that battle went fine. I picked up TM09 Bullet Seed immediately after. At this point, I entered sunny, peaceful Floaroma Town! This was the point in the game where I unlocked picking berry trees and planting them to grow more overnight. I will be taking advantage of this in order to get some well-deserved held items. Some Team Galactic grunts were blocking the way to the meadow, so I went eastward. Route 205 greeted me with a little girl that needed me to save her papa from spacemen at the Valley Windworks, but the spacemen were all dressed up like Team Galactic! They were blocking the north exit, so I headed over to Valley Windworks and fought the door guard, only to find out he didn't have the key. I headed back to Floaroma Meadow where I saw the other Galactic Grunts only to find them harassing a honey maker and declaring "Team Galactic will have that honey!" Something about attracting pokemon in great numbers. Thunder :luxio: handled their Lv. 13 male Stunky :stunky: and two Lv. 11 male Zubat :zubat: with extreme ease landing 2 critical hits with spark, leveling up to Lv. 18, and learning bite! They dropped the Works Key on their way out and the honey man gave me some honey! I'll use that later for a honey tree encounter. Valley Windworks started out with two Galactic Grunts that had a Lv. 13 male Zubat :zubat: , a Lv. 11 female Glameow :glameow: and a Lv. 11 male Stunky :stunky: . Thunder :luxio: leveled up to Lv. 19 in that process. The next fight was one that I was honestly dreading.

Commander Mars.png
Team Galactic.png
Mars.png

VS. GALACTIC COMMANDER MARS
Mars informed me that Team Galactic had four commanders, and that they were trying to create a new, better world. The deal was simple. If she won, I would leave, and if I won, Team Galactic would leave. So then, let's begin! Thunder :luxio: sparked her Lv. 15 female Zubat :zubat: with no worries. Next up is a tough roadblock. Commander Mars' Lv. 17 female Purugly :purugly: . Fake out and feint attack got Thunder :luxio: down to half health exactly, but I got a charge in. She got in another feint attack, but the charged spark was just enough to KO! Thunder :luxio: grew to Lv. 20 and Commander Mars was defeated!

Commander Charon informed her that they collected enough electricity and scoffed at her for losing to me. He mentioned that with the stolen power they could do something "spectacular". Mars doesn't seem to like Charon. They left and the little girl was reunited with her smelly father. Team Galactic also left the entire area, meaning I could move forward. Looker showed up just too late and was impressed with what I did. He said that Team Galactic's hideout was in Eterna City and ran off. So, here's the thing. There is a Drifloon :drifloon: that shows up every Friday at Valley Windworks, and I defeated Team Galactic at Valley Windworks on a Friday. Apparently, beating Team Galactic there on a Friday means that you can't encounter the Drifloon :drifloon: until the NEXT Friday. With that being said, I am choosing to save my Valley Windworks encounter for later. Who knows, maybe I'll need it. My Route 205 encounter was a Lv. 11 male Shellos :shellos: !

shellos west.png

♂ California has entered the PC!

I named him California :shellos: because he is a Western Shellos :shellos: . I'll mention I forgot to get more poke balls and I had only 4 to catch California :shellos: . Needless to say, I bought 10 more for the Premier Ball. Frost  leveled up to Lv. 19 and learned bubblebeam in place of bubble in my first Hiker fight of the game! Hikers are the gift that just keep giving. Cross Chop :zubat: grew to Lv. 18 against Aroma Trainer Elizabeth's Roselia :roselia: that she made me jealous with. Picknicker Siena sent out a Lv. 12 female Bidoof :bidoof: that Cross Chop :zubat: had to fight. Awkward. I had to use a potion in battle against her Lv. 12 Pachirisu :pachirisu: . Never underestimate Pachirisu :pachirisu: . Cross Chop :zubat: grew to Lv. 19! I picked up some hidden stardust and a heal ball. Picknicker Karina had a Lv. 14 male Piplup  ! That was fun to see. It probably wasn't fun for Cross Chop :zubat: to fight though. It's worth mentioning there is a rest house by Picknicker Karina just outside of Eterna Forest. Eterna Forest is a unique situation upon first entering. You are paired up with a girl named Cheryl with her Chansey :chansey: at the very start, and all the battles become Multi Battles. Meaning, Cheryl will join you in battle until you escort her to the end of the forest. Because of this, I will not be counting any Eterna Forest encounters until Cheryl's quest has been completed. Also, if any pokemon die while you are with Cheryl, she will restore them back to full health after battle, but they are still considered dead for the purposes of any Nuzlocke and/or variant. The first Multi Battle featured a Lv. 16 Pachirisu :pachirisu: that did know spark, which was a major issue. Cross Chop :zubat: had to be healed twice, and ultimately had to be switched out to Frost  . Frost  took the hits better, and we won. That fight also showed off the other evolution branch of Wurmple :wurmple: that we didn't see with Silcoon :silcoon: and Beautifly :beautifly: . Cross Chop :zubat: and Frost  grew to Lv. 20! Psychics Lindsey and Elijah had two Lv. 17 male Abra :abra: that did quite a number on Thunder :luxio: , forcing a heal, but they went down easily. Thunder :luxio: grew to Lv. 21! He was getting a little close to the Level Limit. Up next were Bug Trainers that used the Dustox :dustox: line and the two types of Burmy :burmysandy: :burmytrash: that we haven't seen. Frost  grew to Lv. 21! After a fight with a Psyduck :psyduck: and a Meditite :meditite: , we made it to the end. Cheryl gave me the Soothe Bell as a token of gratitude, which I gave to Cross Chop :zubat: to hold on to. The Soothe Bell raises the happiness of pokemon faster, and Cross Chop :zubat: needs to be as happy as she can get. I decided to strategically hold off on my Eterna Forest encounter for reasons that I'll explain later. So, I finally reached Eterna City! BARRY MUSIC! Barry showed up and escorted me to the Eterna Pokemon statue, only to find Cyrus again. "Shaping our world are time and space in an intertwining spiral. Revered in Sinnoh are the Pokemon of time and space... Sinnoh's myth... Its truth needs investigation..." Then just like that, he left. Barry gave me the outstanding advice, "Make certain all your attacks hit! Avoid enemy attacks for sure!" Sounds simple enough. The inscription had been ripped off the statue, but a local kindly informed me that it went something like "... creation of DIA... ...giver of time... ln laughter, there is tears... And, likewise... The same time flows... ...the blessing of DIA... ....birth of PAL... ...creator of parallel dimensions... Alive, yet not alive... ...rifts in space... To arrive in the same univer... ...the blessing of PAL..." He also mentioned that some people say there used to be a third inscription. One of a Pokemon to rival those that control time and space. But, what kind of Pokemon could be that mighty? I then ran into Cynthia. She seemed fascinated by my Pokedex. She gave me HM01 Cut! She said she was studying Pokemon Mythology, and that the statue is supposed to be a powerful Pokemon. She jokingly added that I may even run into something like it on my journey with the Pokedex. As she left, she asked that I give her regards to Professor Rowan and wished me luck. An old woman in Eterna Condominiums gave me TM67 Recycle! That also happens to be where the Name-Rater is for changing nicknames. I've noticed an awful lot of Team Galactic Grunts just out and about here as well. There seems to be a large building just beyond some cut-able trees, which could be the Galactic Hideout that Looker mentioned. Before I could go in the Gym, Gardenia met me at the door informing me that Barry told her I was coming, and that I would have to face all the gym trainers before facing her. So, let's get started!

ENTER ETERNA CITY GYM!
Lass Coroline opened up with a Lv. 17 female Cherubi :cherubi: ! Frost  pecked it away after it got leech seeded! Up next was a Lv. 17 female Roselia :roselia: that Cross Chop :zubat: wing attacked with ease landing a critical hit! The center of the Gym is a flower clock. Every time you face a gym trainer and win, it will change the hour and minute hands to have you go face the next trainer. Aroma Lady Jenna started with a Lv. 15 female Budew :budew: that Frost  KO'd with peck! Frost  grew to Lv. 22! It's fine if Frost  stays at this level, but he cannot exceed it until the Gym Leader battle. A Lv. 16 female Budew :budew: was next and got wing attacked by Cross Chop :zubat: ! Cross Chop :zubat: finished off the match by wing attacking her final Lv. 17 female Budew :budew: . The final gym trainer was Aroma Lady Angela with her Lv. 19 female Roselia :roselia: ! Cross Chop :zubat: finished it in one wing attack and grew to Lv. 21! She learned confuse ray to replace supersonic, gaining a 100% accurate move to confuse opponents! With that, the gym trainers were defeated, and the clock moved so that Gardenia could be challenged! However, I felt the need to go back to Route 205 and train Cross Chop :zubat: to Lv. 22 because

golbat female.png

Congratulations! Cross Chop has evolved into Golbat!

With Cross Chop :golbat: being evolved, we now have a great winning chance against Gardenia!

VS Gardenia.jpg

VS. GYM LEADER GARDENIA!
Gardenia starts out with her Lv. 20 male Turtwig :turtwig: ! Frost  was seeking out a starter pokemon battle, so he went in with peck! Turtwig :turtwig: is her bulky setup Pokemon. It was able to start up a reflect and use sunny day before using razor leaf on Frost  ! This wasn't looking good, so Cross Chop :golbat: had to come out, excellently taking a razor leaf on the switch. One wing attack and it was gone! This also stalled out the reflect! Next was a Lv. 20 male Cherrim :cherrimsunshine: that changed forms in the sunlight! It got to use safeguard, but the sunlight faded at this point as well, reverting it back to its normal form :cherrim: ! One last wing attack ended it. Last, but certainly not least, was Gardenia's fully evolved Lv. 22 female Roserade :roserade: ! Roserade :roserade: is not only a menacing grass/poison type, but also has one of the highest special attack stats that you can get in this game! It is a huge threat to beginners. She opened up with stun spore, and I tried confuse ray not remembering safeguard blocks status moves, terribly wasteful of me. Luckily, her grass knot wasn't hitting Cross Chop :golbat: for much due to her being 4 times resistant to grass, but she immediately lost two turns to paralysis. Wing attack finally came out and almost one shot Roserade :roserade: ! She happened to be holding a sitrus berry to restore health, though. This caused Gardenia to not heal, and Cross Chop :golbat: finished off Roserade :roserade: growing to Lv. 23! We got the Forest Badge! Gardenia gave me TM86 Grass Knot for winning. This also means that we can use Cut outside of battle! The Level Limit is now Lv. 26!

This is where I would normally end an update like this, but there is a pretty big battle that is about to happen, and I need to get a few encounters! So, I hope that you won't mind this post going on for a bit longer. Right off the bat, we need cut. So, I am going to need an HM buddy. I went ahead and got a Bidoof :bidoof: because they can be very useful HM buddies in this generation. I went back to the Old Chateau in Eterna Forest that was blocked by cut-able trees. I didn't explore much yet, but my encounter was a Lv. 15 female Gastly :gastly: !

gastly.png

♀Fuschia has entered the PC!

She broke my dusk ball, but for some reason loved the permier ball. Then I got my Eterna Forest encounter, a Lv. 12 male Budew :budew: !

budew.png

♂Thorn has entered the PC!

I was hoping for that one! I took the time here to let Thunder :luxio: defeat the fishermen on Route 205, including Fisherman Andrew's 6 Magikarp :magikarp: . I picked up TM46 Thief behind the northern Eterna City building, which turned out to be...

ETERNA GALACTIC BUILDING
Team Galactic has set up a base here in Eterna City. There was a missing Bike Shop owner in the city that was rumored to be here, so I went to set him free. Looker was in the building disguised as a Galactic Grunt and warned me to be cautious of which flight of stairs I took. But since this is a challenge, I had to take both flights anyway. Right off the bat we had our first fight against a female Galactic Grunt in a double battle! They sent out a Lv. 17 male Zubat :zubat: and a Lv. 16 female Zubat :zubat: against Frost  and Cross Chop :golbat: ! Cross Chop's :golbat: bite was just barely enough to not KO the male Zubat :zubat: . The two that followed were a Lv. 18 female Glameow :glameow: and a Lv. 17 male Stunky :stunky: . It was fairly easy for a double battle. They were blocking the left set of stairs. I went up and was greeted by a Galactic Grunt with a Lv. 19 male Croagunk :croagunk: . Frost  had an easy time with it. I went through all that trouble for an X Speed, an item I can't even use. It's money in my pocket, though. Up the right steps, I got to the second floor and was greeted by another set of stair options. There was also one optional fight. The left side had a female Galactic Grunt with a Lv. 19 female Glameow :glameow: . Frost  grew to Lv. 23! The right stairs led up to another fight and item room with a female Galactic Grunt. She had a Lv. 16 female Stunky :stunky: , a Lv. 16 female Croagunk :croagunk: , and a Lv. 16 female Glameow :glameow: . Frost  took care of the Galactic trio. The item was X Special. Great. The left satirs were the ones to progress this time with two more sets of stairs. The left had a Galactic Grunt guarding it with no Pokemon. He informed me ordinary people couldn't understand Team Galactic's plans and that he, in fact, had no clue what was going on. The right stairs were guarded by Scientist Traven with a Lv. 20 male Kadabra :kadabra: ! He started out with X Special. Cheater. Then, out of NOWHERE, the most devastating blow of ALL. The Kadabra :kadabra: got a random critical hit with confusion with the raised special attack and killed our dear partner Frost  . My dreams of finishing Platinum with a Piplup  were crushed in this very moment. However, we still have a Wedlocke to finish, AND CROSS CHOP :golbat: WANTS REVENGE! The steps led up to a Blue Shard and a Revive. What an absolute kick to the stomach. Obviously, this threw a gigantic wrench in my plan to deal with the next fight. So, with a heavy heart, I must say, R.I.P. Frost  .

SO. That definitely rips a whole into a lot of things. However, we can't move on without a partner for Cross Chop :golbat: . This one is a very difficult decision. The only male Pokemon I have in the PC are California :shellos: and Thorn :budew: . I already have a flying and water pair with Egoraptor :starly: and Headache :psyduck: , so I am less inclined to go with California :shellos: , even though it would definitely be the best to pair up based on types. Thorn :budew: is a Pokemon that I really want to use, but doesn't have the same synergy with Cross Chop :golbat: as California :shellos: regarding their types. In fact, Thorn :budew: and Cross Chop :golbat: would both share a psychic type weakness, which is what just proved to be powerful enough to kill our starter pokemon. So, after careful consideration, I decided California :shellos: really would be the best partner for Cross Chop :golbat: . I kind of like it, the slow snail with the lightning fast bat. I think it was the right decision. Please let me know if you think so as well.

shellos west.png
golbat female.png

♂California has joined the team and has been paired with Cross Chop!

With that being said, I am very ill-prepared for the next fight, and it is mandatory for progression. I planned on confusing the opponent's strong Pokemon with Cross Chop :golbat: , and I still can, but unless I train California :shellos: , there's not a safety net there and I could lose them both.

So, the funniest thing happened in training. First of all, California :shellos: grew to Lv. 22 and learned hidden power and rain dance! Hidden power is a move that deals damage of a random type just completely depending on each different Pokemon. I managed to pinpoint what type California's :shellos: hidden power was while training. I would like for all of you to meet California :shellos: the FIRE-BREATHING SEA SLUG :joyousazurill: !!! California's :shellos: hidden power was super effective against Route 205's wild Budew :budew: and bug types and got severely weakened by water sport, a move wild Budew :budew: typically know that lowers the power of fire type attacks. I am now VERY satisfied that I chose California :shellos: to go with us on this adventure! With that being said, let's go take out what's stinking atop the Eterna Galactic Building! At the top, I found an Up-Grade, the cycle shop owner, and a purple-haired woman holding captive his Clefairy :clefairy: and Buneary :buneary: .

Commander Jupiter.png
Team Galactic.png
Jupiter.png

VS. GALACTIC COMMANDER JUPITER
Commander Jupiter is the main boss of the Eterna Galactic Building! She started up the fight with a Lv. 21 female Zubat :zubat: and I followed with California's :shellos: trainer battle debut! Little did I know, her Zubat :zubat: has giga drain and got a critical, but it only did half of California's :shellos: health! Shellos :shellos: are very tanky Pokemon. I healed just to be safe, but California :shellos: did take down the Zubat :zubat: ! Up next was the infamous Lv. 23 female Skuntank :skuntank: . Skuntank :skuntank: is a huge hurdle in the very start of this game. It is the evolution of Stunky :stunky: and can be a very powerful poison/dark type. It was even faster than Cross Chop :golbat: ! I set up confuse ray immediately and it got a smokescreen in after a night slash. It hurt itself and Cross Chop :golbat: got in the second wing attack, which caused it to eat its sitrus berry. It hurt itself, wing attack again, night slash, wing attack misses! That's heal 2. Confusion ended, but after Cross Chop :golbat: took two more night slashes and did two wing attacks, it was over! Cross Chop :golbat: grew to Lv. 24 AND

crobat.png

Congratulations! Cross Chop has evolved into Crobat!

CROBAT :crobat: !!!!! I was not expecting that this soon! Cross Chop :crobat: is just REALLY happy! Losing Frost  won't get her down! She rises with the wind and cuts down her enemies! She is easily the MVP of this update and of the Wedlocke so far after defeating Gardenia and Jupiter! Jupiter let us know that their boss is researching the myths of ancient Pokemon, and that with the power of mythical Pokemon, he will become the ruler of Sinnoh. She gave me my last warning to stay out of Team Galactic's affairs and left. This led up to me getting the bicycle from the Cycle Shop Owner! Before I could go pick it up though, Cynthia showed up and gave me my Eterna City encounter, an egg! If you don't know what it is, just wait and find out! She said she was very sure the Pokemon in the egg was happy.

Cynthia's Egg has been placed in our care!

A lot happened in this update! Sorry for the longer post, but I hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for reading everybody! I will see you next time to take on the 3rd Gym Leader in my FIRST Pokemon Platinum Wedlocke! R.I.P. Frost

Nice job so far! I'm inclined to agree with Deva that you've set the bar high for your first Nuzlocke; I've heard that Platinum is one of the most difficult games in the series for a challenge run. Wishing you good luck!

A shame about Frost, but Crobat is one of my favorite Pokemon so I'm very happy to see it. I think California was the right option; once it becomes a Ground-type it will help with the rather nasty Electric weakness your team is facing. Do you have a particular naming theme?

@Typholsion Thanks for your support and feedback! I don't have a naming theme for this challenge run, unless you count the first names that come to my head :joyousazurill: . I think California :shellos: will do very well in the future, as well.

So, where have I been?! You're gonna have to read this roller coaster of an update for my FIRST Pokemon Platinum Wedlocke! I hope to receive a little feedback from everyone reading this time. How? Well, I guess you'll just have to read and find out. Enjoy!

Picking up right where we left off, we're still in Eterna City! I still had a few things that needed to be handled. First of all, this town still had a new feature to discover! In Sinnoh, there is a vast underground network that can be explored all over the region. I got my Explorer Kit from the Underground Man and finished up his tests. My final gift from him was a Piplip  doll. I'll be handling the underground as quietly as possible. I am allowed to go down there and grind for items forever if I just absolutely feel the need to. Also, I do get a Sinnoh Underground encounter, if I get lucky enough to find a fossil. However, the first fossil that I dig up will be what I get. I can't just dig up a bunch of fossils and choose the best one to revive in Orburgh City. With that being said, it was time to go east and get my Route 211 encounter, a Lv. 13 female Meditite :meditite: !

meditite female.png

♀Mindy has entered the PC!

That could be a nice addition to the team later on. I love psychic types! We had our first fight with a bird keeper here! However, I forgot what the sprite looked like, so I was expecting an ace trainer, which led to California :shellos: fighting a Lv. 17 female Starly :starly: and a Lv. 17 female Hoothoot :hoothoot: . Starly :starly: tried the double team strategy, but a rain boosted water pulse handled them both. I found TM12 Taunt! I should note that I taught Headache :psyduck: rock smash. I had no clue she could learn it, oh well haha. California :shellos: grew to Lv. 23 fighting a wild Meditite :meditite: ! I went into Mt. Coronet from Route 211 to get an encounter, only to discover that I wasn't going to get ANYTHING without a rare encounter in the early areas because the most common thing I can encounter that I haven't caught is the genderless Bronzor :bronzor: , which does not count in a Wedlocke as anything due to it not having a gender. Therefore, I will try to avoid running into any dupes in Mt. Coronet until much later to try to get a real encounter. I made a shopping run, got a premier ball. Among my normal supply stocking, I bought an escape rope and 15 repels to try to avoid some things. I will note that I backtracked and got the berries that I've been growing. I found some SilverPowder and TM82 Sleep Talk! I will be very happy to see Diamond and Pearl remakes in the future with no HM blocks. I got the Exp. Share from one of Professor Rowan's lab assistants south of Eterna City! This is the equippable Exp. Share before Gen 6, and I will be using it for more efficient training. CYCLE ROAD! The top of Route 206 is the Cycle Road! You travel down the road very quickly on your bicycle and encounter cyclist trainers! I remember there being some troubling things here, so I'll try to be careful. Right off the bat, I broke that promise. The first trainer turned out to be the trouble I remembered, Cyclist Axel and his Lv. 21 male Pikachu :pikachu: . Of course, I started with California :shellos: . This is what I wanted to avoid. However, mud bomb landed right away after he used thunder wave, and it was over. Cyclist Megan had a Lv. 21 female Staravia :staravia: ! That was nice to see. California :shellos: grew to Lv. 24! Near the end, Cyclist Kayla had a Lv. 21 female Pikachu :pikachu: ! However, by that point I had switched to Thunder :luxio: and Random :dustox: ! Static paralyzed Thunder :luxio: . I forgot electric types could be paralyzed until Gen 6. Thunder :luxio: grew to Lv. 23 and replaced leer with roar! That was the Cycle Road! At the bottom, we were back to Route 207! We can now go up and down bike hills, so I healed in Orburgh City! I also had to pick up my cut buddy to see what I could get on Route 206! To my joy, my Route 206 encounter was a Lv. 16 female Ponyta :ponyta: !

ponyta.png

♀Daring has entered the PC!

I hope her nature fits the name. California :shellos: grew to Lv. 25 against Hiker Theodore and his two Onix :onix: ! I went into Wayward Cave for an encounter and got a Lv. 18 male Onix :onix: !

onix.png

♂Polish has entered the PC!

I had a chance to get Gible :gible: , but I guess it wasn't meant to be. But hey, I've never used Onix :onix: or Steelix :steelix: , it could be fun. Next up was a double battle with Camper Anthony and Picknicker Lauren on Route 207! They had a Lv. 22 male Chimchar :chimchar: and a Lv. 22 female Pachirisu :pachirisu: ! Pachirisu :pachirisu: was a major threat. So, I had California :shellos: mud bomb and Cross Chop :crobat: bite. Mud bomb missed and it got to use spark on Cross Chop :crobat: , but it wasn't hitting very hard. This time, mud bomb and bite took care of it. Cross Chop :crobat: grew to Lv. 25! Chimchar :chimchar: went down easily. This pair is getting pretty close to the level limit, so I will be forced to use Thunder :luxio: and Random :random: more soon. California :shellos: grew to Lv. 26 against Hiker Justin's Lv. 20 male Nosepass :nosepass: ! Right on the limit. Dawn showed up and gave me the VS. Seeker and the Dowsing Machine Poketch app! The VS. Seeker is an AMAZING item that allows you to rematch trainers nearby! It recharges after a certain number of steps. This is the better training method that I have been waiting for! The VS. Seeker is second only to the Running Shoes! 10/10 item. Hiker Kevin was up to battle after Battle Girl Helen. Random :dustox: started out the battle against 2 Lv. 17 Geodude :geodude: . His Lv. 19 male Onix :onix: used screech on Random :dustox: things were looking bad, but I didn't want to risk switching to Thunder :luxio: . I used one heal. Screech again! He got another screech off and Random :dustox: absolutely could not handle rock tomb. Random :dustox: died. R.I.P. Random :dustox: . Things are looking VERY bad. Thunder :luxio: has to come out! Thunder :luxio: defeated the Onix :onix: , but it used screech twice!!! Last was a Lv. 19 male Geodude :geodude: . All I could do was bite. And of course, Geodude :geodude: got a MAGNITUDE 9 at the worst time. Thunder :luxio: was lost as well. This was thoroughly devastating. What item was Hiker Kevin protecting? A revive. WHAT IS THIS PATTERN?! So, with an absolutely devestated heart, I must say R.I.P. Thunder :luxio: AND Random :dustox: . This was a terrible, terrible fate. Then there were 4. To recap, the team is now California :shellos: and Cross Chop :crobat: with Egoraptor :starly: and Headache :psyduck: : . I have two male options in the PC. Thorn :budew: and Polish :onix: . California :shellos: is going to become a ground type very soon, so Thorn :budew: is the clear male choice.

My female options in the PC are:
Rolly :geodude:
Rosie :machop:
Fuschia :gastly:
Mindy :meditite:
And Daring :ponyta:
I pretty much immediately ruled out Rolly :geodude: and Rosie :machop: . Daring :ponyta: makes sense with type matchups, but Daring :ponyta: is mild natured with run away and won't evolve until level 40. Not impressive. She was carrying a shuca berry, though. Mindy :meditite: would share a flying type weakness. Fuschia :gastly: , however, would be able to deal with the psychic type weakness that Thorn :budew: has. I have also never used a Gengar :gengar: in a main playthrough, to my rememberance. Fuschia :gastly: might also be useful in the next gym. Therefore, I went with Fuschia :gastly: !

budew.png
gastly.png

Thorn and Fuschia have joined the team and have been paired together!

I hope this was the right decision. This experience should show all of you just how extreme this game can be when it comes to difficulty. With that, I have a lot of training and a lot of running to do. At least I have the soothe bell! I will check back in after training. Here are Thorn's :budew: stats before training:

budew.png

Thorn the male Budew
Lv. 12, Adamant Nature (gross), Loves to eat, Likes spicy food
Ability: Natural Cure
Moves: absorb, growth, water sport, stun spore

Here's Fuschia :gastly: :

gastly.png

Fuschia the female Gastly
Lv. 15, Bold Nature, Often lost in thought, Likes sour food
Ability: Levitate
Moves: night shade, spite, curse, mean look (oh boy)

I went to Hearthome City during training to check Thorn's :budew: happiness. Cyrus was in Mt. Coronet. He mentioned how Sinnoh started at Mt. Coronet, and that human spirit destroyed a perfectly good world where only time flowed and space expanded. I stopped Keira's, a Contest Judge, Buneary :buneary: from running off, so she invited me to the Contest Hall. I got a Poffin Case from the Pokemon Fan Club president! More on poffins later. Here are the results of my very long training session:

I taught Fuschia :haunter: thief with the TM to help train, but it will probably get replaced later. I decided to train Egoraptor :staravia: and Headache :psyduck: because I need to be able to fall back on them, and I have some news. I was going to borrow a copy of Pokemon Diamond to evolve Fuschia :haunter: right away, but the person I was borrowing it from needs some time to locate it. I don't feel confident in taking on Fantina with Fuschia :haunter: as just a Haunter :haunter: . I would VERY much feel better about sending out a Gengar :gengar: instead. So, there will be a short hiatus in posts until I can evolve Fuschia :haunter: , UNLESS you, the audience, votes in the attached poll to fight Fantina with Fuschia :haunter: in her current state. It's up to you, go vote! To wrap up this shorter update while waiting on responses from the poll, I decided to finish the trainers on Route 208 off with Egoraptor :staravia: and Headache :psyduck: , including Aroma Lady Hannah with her Lv. 18 female Roselia :roselia: in a petal ball capsule and Lv. 22 male Combee :combee: . How sad. If you didn't already thoroughly read the rules, I am applying Male Combee :combee: Clause. Artist William had a Lv. 20 male Mime Jr. :mimejr: and a Lv. 20 male Bonsly :bonsly: ! That reminds me of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX. A black belt in the corner of the woods gave me an Odd Keystone. So, Spiritomb :spiritomb: is weird. If you take the Odd Keystone to a certain place you can always get Spiritomb :spiritomb: , a Pokemon with no weaknesses in this game being a ghost/dark type. However, in order for you to unlock the event to get Spiritomb :spiritomb: , you need to go into the wireless connectivity portion of the Sinnoh Underground and play the hidden base flag mini game over a hundred or 200 times, I believe. That's just off my memory, feel free to correct me. However, I do know it is an incredibly excessive undertaking for one specific Pokemon. It is a rare Pokemon, and it is good, but I will also have to ask if you feel it is worth my time. If there is a second poll option, I'll have one for Spiritomb :spiritomb: , if not, leave a reply on the post. I do enjoy getting to hear feedback! The Contest Hall lies at the north end of Hearthome City. When I got there, Kiera, the contest judge I helped out, was there with my mom! Apparently, my mother, Johanna, was a contest star! The more you know. My mom gave me a tuxedo and Kiera gave me some glitter powder for my Pokemon. I will probably enter some of my Pokemon into contests just for some fun and nostalgia. Fantina was in the contest hall and happily went to the gym after seeing I was ready to challenge her. I went back for my Route 208 encounter after all the dust settled, AND

♀Destiny has entered the PC!

I LOVE GARDEVOIR :gardevoir: ! That's the best thing that happened the whole update! There was only a 15% chance of finding that too! I'm glad I did because that was actually the only new Pokemon on Route 208 that I could get right now. I ran into 3 Bibarel :bibarel: and 1 Roselia :roselia: before, so 4 dupes even! I was giving up, but I got it!

Well, that's all for now! I had a hard time deciding to even post this before I could get Diamond, but I needed to make some sort of update. Thanks so much for reading! I'm sorry this was a shorter post, but to make it up to all of you, the next post will feature Gym Leader Fantina and Gym Leader Maylene of Veilstone City! I hope you provide me with some good feedback and poll results! The future of my FIRST Pokemon Platinum Wedlocke is in your hands! R.I.P. Thunder :luxio: and Random :dustox: .

RIP Thunder and Random. I like those Pokemon a lot too so it will be sad to see them go.

I say you should definitely wait to evolve Fuchsia. There's no pressure to stick to an update schedule, and in a challenge as rough as this, you want to be as prepared as possible.

As for the Spiritomb, that's up to you. It isn't quite as hard as you made it sound, but it may still take a while. I can explain more.
After you place the Odd Keystone in the Hallowed Tower on the Route east of Hearthome, you need to talk to 32 people in the Underground. The NPC traders don't count, which means you need at least one other copy of a Sinnoh game. Your friend with Diamond may be able to help you out with this. In the Underground, you'll have to make a Secret Base with a Digger Drill. If you go in and out of your Secret Base 32 times and talk to your friend each time, even though it's the same person, the game will think you've talked to 32 people, and Spiritomb will appear where you put the Odd Keystone.
