Last Surprise - Persona 5: 0. Such a ****ing jam, I wanna sing to this song every time I hear it
For Revenge + Battle at Journey's End - Octopath Traveler: -1. I love this song and it's wonderful but the other ones shine above it.
Serpent Eating the Ground - Bravely Default: +1. I love this song so much. You get so many different emotions from this.

Last Surprise - Persona 5: (4/10). This time maybe I'd rate it a bit higher over 10 but it still doesn't convince me. -3
For Revenge + Battle at Journey's End - Octopath Traveler: (6/10). It's OK. Pretty, too. 0

so... three of these got a +3 from me in the semis. this is gonna make my head hurt...

A Scattered Moment - Yakuza Kiwami 2 - 0 - This is intense without even needing to go that heavy. But it's probably the weakest of my previous +3 choices... don't get me wrong, this is a 0 that I really really really like!
Kaine Salvation - Nier Automata - -3 - It's absolutely fine! It's just that there are four other themes that I enjoy so much more than it here...
Last Surprise - Persona 5 - +3 - to be a lowly battle theme in the middle of a round of epic final boss themes... it's such a smooth track. Single-handedly ended up sealing my decision to buy the game last month! (And beat it too...) I've heard this for about 30-40 hours now and it's still just as enjoyable to listen to. If that's not a masterpiece I don't know what is... shame it's well into the negatives haha.
For Revenge + Battle at Journey's End - Octopath Traveler - -1 - It's kind of... directly inferior to the Bravely Default theme in the same round which is... unfortunate. A worthy 4th place choice for me tho.
Serpent Eating the Ground - Bravely Default - +1 - The opening salvo of notes firing away... the pulsing tempo, the dramatic choral onslaught, the absolute ride that this 6 minute 34 second beast takes you for... just everything about this theme is incredible. I would be completely fine with this winning.

Man it's crazy we did this for 3 months and listened to some amazing and not so amazing tunes and we finally reached the apex. I feel like these are some DAMN fine songs to be in the finals and it was really anyone's round. Congrats to Yakuza for having amazing music and thank you to everyone who participated. I hope the next time I host this it goes JUST as amazingly.

• The highest rated song in the initial 20 rounds did not win nor even made it to the finals (The Battle for Everyone's Souls - Persona 3). Rather, a Persona 5 song was able to sneak in to the finals instead.

• If we count a score of 7 as the basis for a good song, then we only had about 47 good songs in this showdown. That is less than half.
