Well, considering I did one of these back on Azurilland - with a more completed character and on OG Skyrim - and the fact that Take Notes is on Alpha for Special Edition - I thought: "Why not start a new journal series?"

So yes, this is basically Journal of the Dragonborn 2.0, if you want to look at it that way.

This will operate almost the same as the previous with each journal entry taking up a single page on the journal's UI. However, instead of focusing on singular quests, this is going to be one big adventure! And while part of me wanted to do a non-Dragonborn playthrough, considering Gray Cowl of Nocturnal basically calls you the Dragonborn when you do it... well, that's part of the whole thing. Whether or not I do the main quest is another thing entirely.

I don't have a specific direction or order in mind, either, so if you want me to do certain things, then feel free to request it. I might just do it.

  • Beyond Reach
  • Beyond Skyrim: Bruma
  • Blackreach Railroad
  • Falskaar
  • Helgen Reborn
  • Relics of Hyrule
  • Rotmulaag: Immersive Meditations
  • The Gray Cowl of Nocturnal
  • The Notice Board
  • The Paarthurnax Dilemma
  • The Wheels of Lull
  • Vigilant
  • The Kids Aren't Alright - adds a LOT more children to Skyrim, a number of them are kids of bandits and such. They're all killable, too, in the version I'm using.
  • Open Cities - Because I can actually run this and it works well
  • Take Notes: Journal of the Dragonborn - what I'm using to document this whole thing.
  • Skyrim Unbound - I originally used Alternate Start for a lot of my playthroughs, but I found using Unbound a lot more interesting, especially with classes and such.
  • Ordinator - because Perkus Maximus is a pain in the ass and Skyrim Redone doesn't exist on SSE
  • Immersive Armors
  • Unique Uniques
  • Campfire
  • Frostfall
  • iNeed

I'll do notes about other mods I may or may not reference later down the line. Anyway, enjoy the adventures of my female Dunmer ranger/assassin/whatever she'll end up being!

Journal Entries 1-4

Entry 1
17th Rain's Hand, 4E 201

I've finally arrived in Windhelm. All those guars and kagoutis blocking the way to Skyrim finally meant something in the end.

However, my journey here has just begun. I have felt Azura's call since the moment I set foot across the border - calling out to me. Grandfather had once told me that my birthsign signalled that I was to do great things, but what those things are... I do not know.

I suppose I should sharpen my blades and see what needs to be done.

Entry 2
17th Rain's Hand, 4E 201

Not... what I was expecting on my first night exploring the city. A priestess of Mara and her... companion... from Evermore spoke to me - well, more the priestess than the guardian she was with.

She said something about bad things occurring in the Reach, but for what it was, they couldn't say. Possession by Mara herself aside... that may be something I can look into at some point on my travels. They said about a merchant in Markarth - not that I really know anything about this province.

Entry 3
17th Rain's Hand, 4E 201

Almost immediately, I knew I couldn't stay in Windhelm - the place was too cold! And if I wanted to get to Markarth, I'd best be prepared. However, I'd rather not have that at the cost of freezing to death.

I took a carriage to Whiterun. Perhaps under the warmer weather, I might be able to do something about it. Though who really knows?

Entry 4
17th Rain's Hand, 4E 201

Just my luck. Snowing in Windhelm, raining in Whiterun. Why does today have to be so... miserable? Part of me wants to head to Solstheim at this rate... or head back home to what remains of Ebonheart-

No. I can't go back home. Ebonheart no longer exists. Not the one in Vvardenfell, nor the one near Ash Mountain. Morrowind isn't my home anymore. Not since everything was destroyed.

Regardless, I think I might lay my head here in Whiterun for the time being, and hopefully do a few things around the place. I might investigate what happened in that "Helgen" place...

The Priestess of Mara and her guardian from Evermore is the start of the Beyond Reach mod. Of course, I've never actually started that mod, so that might end up at some point down the line.

And in actual gameplay, I was on Windhelm bridge AND I was freezing to death. That's what Frostfall does to you. Makes the north cold as ****.

Anyway, onto the next entries!

@Isa: I'm also doing an Oblivion playthrough in my own time with a character I'm considering a relative to this character - and both are descendants to my ESO character. Fun. Anyway, it should be interesting. And less crashing, too. My Oblivion game likes to crash. A lot.

Journal Entries 5-8

Entry 5
18th Rain's Hand, 4E 201
And so begins my second true day in Skyrim. Well... considering most of my previous day was in a carriage... I don't know if I could say that was a true day. Regardless, I suppose I should start exploring Whiterun and the hold.

Unsurprisingly, Whiterun has its share of problems. A woman with a missing son she thinks is imprisoned, some Redguards looking for another Redguard, and even a large tree being... dead or something. Almost reminds me of the mushroom homes back in Morrowind.

Well, there's no time like the present to start doing some old fashioned adventuring.

Entry 6
18th Rain's Hand, 4E 201
Northwest to the ancient forge
Deep in the past, follow the aeon path.

What a strange note. Along with it I found a... Forgotten Sword... I'm not sure what it means, but the chiming fairy that was nearby didn't really seem to show anything that made sense of it all.

Well, I'm in Riverwood now. I think I'd best take a look around, sell the things I don't need, stock up on supplies, and head onward to Helgen. See if these dragon rumours are true.

This "ancient forge" can come later.

Entry 7
18th Rain's Hand, 4E 201
Well, I guess I'm taking a detour into a Nordic crypt up on the mountain to get a strange claw. Well, I guess the coin should be decent, but who really knows at this stage?

I should probably stock up on water and food and head out in the morning. This Golden Claw seems to be more than meets the eye.

Then again, it could just be a simple trinket. But if that was the case, why would bandits go ahead and steal it? Aside from being made of gold, of course.

Entry 8
18th Rain's Hand, 4E 201
Bandits. Of course. What else would it be? Bandits in a watchtower, bandits inside Bleak Falls Barrow - not to mention a yellow fairy clinging and clanging outside the crypt's doors.

Speaking of, I found a book that talked about these fairies inside Riverwood's Inn. Apparently, different coloured fairies lead to different sorts of items - weapons, armour, and items of "deep and ancient magic" or something. Said book also told people to not trust these "fairies".

If that's the case, then what the heck was that note all about? What will I find here in Bleak Falls Barrow?

Entry 9
Rain's Hand, 19th, 4E 201

More bandits inside - and a young boy named Jens, who is probably the two bandits' child. Not much I can do about a now orphaned child in the middle of a barrow. I don't have a home here in Skyrim.

There was another bandit down below near some sort of... puzzle? I'm not sure what this is supposed to be, but there are symbols on the top of the room... and what seem to be switches with three symbols on them each.

I'm no expert on Nordic ruins, but if the symbols are actually what are needed, then I guess not many people enter these ruins with how easy the supposed solution is.

Entry 10
Rain's Hand, 19th, 4E 201

A bear, a moth and an owl... I wonder what that means... Oh, right.

I ran into a fellow Dunmer by the name of Arvel. Fancied himself a swift character, but he was just some bandit with the Golden Claw. Still, though... how did they manage to get into the shop?

Anyway, I cut him down, both from the web and the man himself, and got the golden claw for myself. His journal said about the solution "being in the palm of your hand". Would that have something to do with the symbols on the claw? I guess I'll find out soon enough. Wait... what is that sound?

Entry 11
Rain's Hand, 19th, 4E 201

Draugr... I've heard of these creatures. Bodies stuck in an endless cycle of undead. At least, that what they say back in Morrowind.

I'll need to tread lightly going forward.

Entry 12
Rain's Hand, 19th, 4E 201

Well, I found the hole for the claw's apparent key like nature. I guess the Nords had a fascination with Dragon Claws or something.

I continued on, only to hear strange chanting from... some strange wall.

Fus... Force... Force... Fus... Fus.

What was that all about? I don't know...

I suppose I should just get back to Riverwood as soon as possible.

Entry 13
Rain's Hand, 19th, 4E 201

Found some strange things on my way back to Riverwood. But I should probably start with what I found in Bleak Falls Barrow.

In a nearby chest, I found some strange garments - made of a material I could not recognise. They were all in green and brown. I could help but think that this is what the fairy was leading to. What are these?

And again, I saw a pink fairy right near the house of a witch named Anise. This time it was some sort of sword with a note. I don't know what to make of this.

Entry 14
Rain's Hand, 20th, 4E 201

Found a strange wooden shield inside Embershard Mine, after I returned the claw. Not much else to say about that.

I came back to Riverwood to stay for the night. In the morning, I'll continue heading south towards Helgen. Try and find out what this whole "Dragon" nonsense is about...

Entry 15
Rain's Hand, 20th, 4E 201

Turned out my trip to Helgen was a waste of time. The place was in shambles, and there was only a cave bear in the... caves...

Well... I'm not sure where to go from here. Should I head to Markarth? I did see a notice about some missing people, so maybe I'll deal with that, then start making my way to the Reach. Maybe see if I find this strange 'ancient forge' while I'm at it.

Entry 16
Rain's Hand, 21st, 4E 201

Bandits in Fort Greymoor... they were rather tough, and blocking with two daggers was less than ideal. I had to sneak around and make sure they didn't see me. Almost lost my life a few times...

Doesn't help that this place is next to an apparent War Zone. This Civil War I've been hearing about is rather concerning, to say the least...

Anyway, I think I'll continue westward, maybe towards Rorikstead.

Oh yeah, I'm also running War Zones and Immersive Patrols, so expect some crazy stuff to happen from that. Like below! The wonders of Skyrim's strange occurrences. But we get a bit further into the Relics of Hyrule mod, as you'll see here.

Journal Entries 17-20

Entry 17
Rain's Hand, 21st, 4E 201

I found some strange stone puzzle. Another one of those Nordic things, I suppose. Simple enough to solve. Though I guess it took my mind off of the massive fight in front of the farm next to me.

Seriously, how does that even happen? That soldiers would fight each other, even on private property, and potentially endangering innocents?

What is wrong with these Nords?

Entry 18
Rain's Hand, 21st, 4E 201

A forge in the middle of nowhere... apparently, the locals call it the "Terminan Forge". Not sure what that means, though. There was a book in a chest there. It told the story of a hero who saved "them" from evil, who wielded the shield of their kingdom.

I don't know anything about this, but I put the strange green cap into the forge, and it made a ring with a green gem embedded in it. I could feel my limbs become... stronger, and nimble. It's an enchanted ring, I know that much.

But... then there was a note, about some sort of enchanter... I know the island half-buried by ash refers to Solstheim, though. I wonder why...

Entry 19
Rain's Hand, 21st, 4E 201

Well, I guess this whole Terminan thing keeps being confusing. To top off the list of strange things, we have: Spiders with skulls on their backs, strange blue blocks with some weird symbol on them, some swords, and now some strange ancient bow. What are these things? Relics of a forgotten time? A forgotten era? And those fairies - what about them?

What on Nirn have I stumbled upon?

There was a note inside the Frostfruit Inn, both about the Bow and the Forge. Maybe I could do something about it... hm...

Entry 20
Rain's Hand, 21st, 4E 201

No luck on the bow, guess that's something else to think about.

I wonder how the rest of House Tirell is doing. I heard Giron - lucky him being named after our heroic ancestor - took his family south, but after that, I lost track of him. I know none of our House made it to Solstheim - despite it being Redoran territory. I think a few tried to head to Davon's Watch. Didn't end well for them.

I'd rather not deal with Morrowind Great House politics while in Skyrim. But... as far as I know, I'm the only one of my House who's come here from Ebonheart.

Entry 21
Rain's Hand, 21st, 4E 201

Poor Lund... killed by Skeevers of all things.

Then again, it's entirely possible if they outnumber you and you have no idea how to fight. And since Lund was also griefstricken...

But where did the Skeevers even come from? Huh...

Entry 22
Rain's Hand, 22nd, 4E 201

Damn Sabre Cats... almost died facing one head on, if it wasn't for my paralysing poison. That would've been a horrible end...

It almost reminds me of the tales I heard about from Cyrodiil. Not that I've been there myself, but I remember...

Veya... she had ended up arrested during a Morag Tong mission, before ending up right in the middle of the Oblivion Crisis.

But the Morag Tong are all but forgotten... she was done with them. And now... so am I. Doesn't mean I'll join the Dark Brotherhood any time soon.

Entry 23
Rain's Hand, 23rd, 4E 201

That... was the most ridiculous rescue... I've ever had to do.

So, apparently the rescue mission involved a place called Swindler's Den. Filled with bandits, obviously. Managed to sneak around and take them out with some well placed arrows. Found Thonjolf inside one of the rooms and got him out.

Then I had to escort him. Back to Winterhold. Winterhold! Isn't it supposed to be even colder there than Eastmarch? How did he end up in Whiterun? That makes no sense at all...

And to top it all off, I get a strange letter.

Entry 24
Rain's Hand, 23rd, 4E 201

The relics of Hyrule... is that what those strange items - and those clinging and clanging fairies - are supposed to be about? Just what on Nirn is Hyrule?

Apparently, there's something inside the College, but I don't have the interest of entering. There's an... entrance fee from what I've gathered. Never been fond of mages myself.

I suppose I should find the next carriage to Whiterun. Or Falkreath. I got a letter from their Jarl for some apparent reason. Not sure why...

Entry 25
Rain's Hand, 23rd, 4E 201

Managed to get the carriage driver who brought me to Winterhold to take me to Riverwood. I'm lucky I caught him before he left. Need I mention it's bloody cold up here?

I had a decent rest on the way back, but I doubt I'll be rescuing another person from a den anytime soon.

Now... where was I? Ah yes! Heading to Falkreath!

Entry 26
Rain's Hand, 24th, 4E 201

Thalmor.

I never thought that those High Elves would get even more ridiculous. But I think what I saw today... tops the list.

"Official Thalmor Business", they say. Now, I get that they're escorting a prisoner of theirs, but when that prisoner is DEAD? Why stand over a dead corpse and say that I need to move along? Why continue standing there? He's dead!

Well... at least it gives me some nice robes. And a way to get back at those *******s.

Entry 27
Rain's Hand, 24th, 4E 201

Morwitijaal... its name seemed to enter my mind when I approached... and there's a fairy outside of it.

What is this place, exactly? I wonder...

I'll head to Falkreath, see if I get any information about this. Best to be prepared.

Entry 28
Rain's Hand, 24th, 4E 201

So, apparently I found a companion on this quest for these relics.

I met a Nord woman named Ignacia Deflagratio. The bartender, Narri, told me about her when I asked about the ruin to the south, and how its name entered my mind.

Ignacia believes that there's some dark power inside that ruin. At the same time, however, it's something ancient to discover. She's not sure what it is.

Regardless, we set off for Morwitijaal immediately.

I always seem to enter Morwitijaal first when I go after Relics of Hyrule dungeons. I mean, Kinolangdanzel, the Ocarina of Time dungeon, is northwest of Solitude. Morwitijaal is... well... you'll see.

JKalenad has a thing for making anagrams out of different things. As it maybe be obvious, Kinolangdanzel is an anagram of Zelda, Link, and Ganon. Morwitijaal, well... I'll say it once we reach the end. Though it should be rather simple. Feel free to comment with what you think it is.

Journal Entries 29-32

Entry 29
Rain's Hand, 24th, 4E 201

As we travelled to the ruin, however, Ignacia got a bit more... shaken. Unsettled. She suggested that we leave it for another time. A strange reason after before, wanting to enter the place, not entirely knowing what was inside.

Once we entered the place, however, I found a bit of a journal written by her. Going through it before she could say anything, it talks about the start of her journey through here.

But what was the most unsettling thing here was the message at the end:

"Do you want to play with me?"

Entry 30
Rain's Hand, 24th, 4E 201

Armos. That's what Ignacia called the strange rock soldiers. I'm not sure what purpose they serve, but they seemed to be guarding a passage. The name came to me - a passage to the Mad God. I can only imagine it is referring to Sheogorath.

There are certainly a plentiful amount of draugr roaming around. But the thing we saw behind a locked gate... Ignacia was rather horrified about it.

"Stay away from it. Or kill it before it can scream." I asked her what she meant. "Their screams... its horrifying..."

She called it a Re-Dead.

Entry 31
Rain's Hand, 24th, 4E 201

A shard? A shard of what? And apparently there's... 24 of them? Some sort of... tarnished yellow. I'm not sure what it is... Aside from that this is apparently the 9th of them.

Phantoms, Stalchildren, Staltroop, Stalfos... these are the names Ignacia spouts out as we come across these strange foes with strange and ancient weaponry. All we can guess is that this has to do with the other relics.

Found another of Ignacia's journals that spoke of her experience with these beings. And the end?

"Okay, we'll play good guys and bad guys."

Entry 32
Rain's Hand, 24th, 4E 201

"I'll be the good guy, and you be the bad guy."

Okay, these journal endings are getting unsettling. Even Ignacia is saying she regrets coming here again. She told me about this mask.

"Heart shaped... spikes... and incredibly eerie eyes... I'm not entirely sure what it is." Upon noting the reference of Swamp, Mountain, Ocean, Canyon, I told Ignacia about discovering the Terminan Forge near Rorikstead.

"Termina! That's what I was seeing!" However, neither of us could make any sense of what she saw. It seems we must push onward.

Considering the trailer showed up a day ago, the question is: Will I cover Beyond Skyrim: Morrowind when it comes around? The answer to that, is YES. I will try and cover the other Beyond Skyrim locations when they come out. Of course, Skyrim itself and a few other mods come before that.

Journal Entries 33-36

Entry 33
Rain's Hand, 25th, 4E 201

"Are you ready? You're the bad guy. And when you're the bad guy, you just run."

I am REALLY starting to get unsettled by these strange writings in another handwriting. Ignacia spoke of a crossbow, but she left it somewhere here before she escaped up some tree.

On another note, there are some strange Re-Dead like corpses in what seemed to be linen wrap, mummified. Gibdos, she called them.

But this strange writer... who is it?

"That's fine, right?"

Entry 34
Rain's Hand, 25th, 4E 201

Skulltulas. That's what those skull spiders are called. We ran into a number of them along the way through, and I suspect we'll run into more of them further on.

I see what Ignacia meant by the Re-Dead's screams. Unfortunately, she got another dose of it, as it wasn't targeting me. But... I have to agree. It was horrifying.

Entry 35
Rain's Hand, 25th, 4E 201

Found the last of Ignacia's journals. Frankly, I'm surprised she was willing to join me in entering - or in her case, re-entering - this tomb that gave her so much trouble.

"It would be suicide if you went alone. These... things... they should not be dealt with alone. I know what they are, I'll come with you."

That is what she said before we left. And I can see that this has been one harrowing experience for her again. All I can hope is that we get to the bottom of this.

"Well... shall we play?"

Entry 36
Rain's Hand, 25th, 4E 201

A giant? In an arena? What on Nirn is this? Then again, I should have asked that question long ago to basically everything in this place. It had some sort of Swamp Key. I guess, going by the message I found at the forge, there's three more of these... things... to go.

So... Mountain, Ocean, and Canyon. I can only guess which one is next.

It also had a note. A rather strange note.

"Your friends... what kind of people are they? I wonder... do these people think of you... as a friend?"

Morwitijaal = Majora + Twili. Yep, if it wasn't obvious, Morwitijaal is the Majora's Mask themed dungeon for Relics of Hyrule. As well, the gate at the end of the dungeon is, well, another dungeon set that'll come later. I'll need the Ocarina before I can do anything about that, though.

Journal Entries 37-40

Entry 37
Rain's Hand, 25th, 4E 201

So. Mountain. A giant mammoth. Exquisite. But also ridiculously tough. Remind me to never attack a mammoth from its front. Terrible idea. That's going to take a while to heal.

Another key, another gem, another note. But there was also a chest in here. This time with some sort of... charred fragment. It was like the tarnished shard from before, but pure black. Also, there's apparently 24 of these, too. And the one I found here is the first of them. Huh.

"What makes you happy? I wonder... what makes you happy... does it make... others happy too?"

Entry 38
Rain's Hand, 25th, 4E 201

Ocean. An ocean that was covered in ice. And icy skeletons. Ignacia didn't know what they were called, but figured them to be 'chilly Stalfos' and thus called them 'Chilfos'. They had Stalhrim gear, and what seemed to be a giant slaughterfish was dead, covered in Stalhrim arrows.

So, another key, gem and note. That just leaves the canyon. And after that...

Whatever that mask is.

"The right thing... what is it? I wonder... if you do the right thing... does it make... everybody... happy?"

Entry 39
Rain's Hand, 25th, 4E 201

Canyon. This time, it was two giant Chaurus. A few well fired arrows took them down rather quickly. Unlike the previous two I had to fight. And the Chilfos. Those were annoying.

So... a key to a valley. Whatever that valley is, I don't know. But it seems we now have the means to go forward, to the end of this place.

"Your true face... what kind of... face is it? I wonder... the face under the mask... is that... your true face?"

Entry 40
Rain's Hand, 25th, 4E 201

"A puppet that can no longer be used is mere garbage. This puppet's role has just ended."

Majora. That is the name beared by the mask I found. It sounds... evil... ancient... and seemingly more otherworldly than even the Daedra. And that is saying something else entirely.

There's also a gate here that I can't open. I'm not sure how, but it must be a place I can return to later on, once I know how.

"Everyone has gone away, haven't they? Well, let's do something else. Do you want to play with me?"

Just read the whole thing. A really charming and nice read, albeit just a couple of spelling errors (nothing too egregious). Consider this thread watched. ^^

Luke: Out of curiosity, what spelling errors are they?

Journal Entries 41-44

Entry 41
Rain's Hand, 25th, 4E 201

Fresh air! Thank the gods! The two of us made it back to Falkreath, exhausted from the fighting and sneaking, and sat down with some food and water.

I thanked Ignacia for coming with me to the ruin, and Ignacia thanked me for seeing that mystery through to the end.

"But not all to the end. There's still that door. And the other things scattered around Skyrim," I said. After some discussion, we decided to continue on together, searching for more of these relics of Hyrule.

Entry 42
Rain's Hand, 25th, 4E 201

After a good sleep - though rather hard due to it being daytime and it seriously ruining my... what is it called? Body clock? Yes, I believe that's the term I've heard - Ignacia asked me to take her to the Terminan Forge. We discussed about other relics, as well as there being something northwest of Solitude.

I suppose going north is our best bet at this point. Who knows what we could find?

Entry 43
Rain's Hand, 25th, 4E 201

Ugh... I had a feeling they would show up sooner or later. No matter where we are, the Dark Brotherhood seems to want us former Tong members dead.

I doubt I'll get any answers from this Astrid, but if there's one thing I'll make sure of...

It's that the Dark Brotherhood messed with the wrong woman.

Entry 44
Rain's Hand, 25th, 4E 201

To make matters worse, I found some sort of beacon belonging to Meridia, the Daedric Prince of... whatever she is. I cannot recall. Nor do I really care. She wants her beacon returned to Mount Kilkreath, which - according to my map - is west of Solitude. I guess it is on the way.

I also took a look at the letter a courier was delivering. Something about some tower east of Falkreath. I told Ignacia that we were going back there to see what we could find. "We have plenty of time to get to the forge," I said.

She had no rebuttal. Surprising.

Well I went through the entries again, and as I say they're pretty minor. Kinda petty, so I hope I don't annoy you with these. In Entry 13, you have written "could help but think", when it should be "couldn't". The only other one that I've seen is in Entry 40, where you've written "beared", which isn't necessarily wrong, but it still doesn't sound quite right to me. It might sound better to say "that is the name the mask bore", or thereabouts. I feel it reads better that way, though of course you may have a different opinion.

Luke: Ah, right. That's fair. Anyway, I do write this during my game with Take Notes, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't come with a grammar corrector - and I just sent it across to a .txt document to here, keeping all... problems... in it, I guess, to keep it consistent. That first one is definitely a mishap, but well, whatever. The second one is either or. Sure, I didn't mention the mask being on a Dragon Priest (Called "Majora's Priest", which didn't attack me for some reason. I really don't know why, it must've bugged out or something), but that's neither here nor there.

I know my entries are starting to become a bit inconsistent in their writing, but I'm kinda putting it to Astera forgetting things. Also, she is, as of current, dismissing the dragon rumours mentioned earlier. Why? Because I have Skyrim Unbound, and dragons set to spawn after fighting one at a word wall. I have not found a dragon at a word wall yet, so no dragons. Astera has not yet become the Dragonborn.

Secondly, also minor, but Giron Tirell is the name of my ESO Dunmer Sorcerer (and then a descendant I mentioned in an earlier entry), then my character in Oblivion is Veya Virian Tirell - named after two ESO characters: Naryu Virian and Veya Releth (there's a story behind why she was named after the latter), and then there's Astera - the latter two basically being former Morag Tong members. I originally had Veya as a Skyrim character, but then I decided to make a new one for the hell of it with Unbound, and here we are. The name Tirell is not an actual Dunmer house, but a surname I made up for my own novel in a separate universe. And now I can't get rid of it.

Journal Entries 45-48

Entry 45
Rain's Hand, 25th, 4E 201

So. The supposed treasure in Peak Shade Tower wasn't much.

"Was it really worth it?" - Ignacia

"Who knows? A healing potion helps, since we both suck at magic." - Me

"Right. Now, are we heading north or not?" - Ignacia

"Yes, yes we are..." - Me

Entry 46
Rain's Hand, 26th, 4E 201

Since we were right near it, we - or rather, I - decided to check out Pinewatch. Found it infested with bandits. Nothing some well-placed sneak attacks couldn't handle.

Speaking of sneaking, did I mention that Ignacia sucks at sneaking? Maybe I shouldn't have given her that White Ring from Morwitijaal that makes sword beams. Nor that strange sword that looks like a helix or something.

Entry 47
Rain's Hand, 26th, 4E 201

Well, the road to the Forge was almost uneventful. Almost.

First, we helped a man named Valdr with his bear and spriggan problem, then came across a battle between Imperials, Bandits and Forsworn - those people from the Reach - near the crossroads, somewhere known as the Sleeping Tree. Not sure what that means, and yes, I did ask Ignacia. She had no idea. She's from Cheydinhal, after all.

Ignacia was rather impressed at how the Forge managed to work, but I told her I didn't really know much about it. Instead, I told her about our next destination: Kinolangdanzel.

Entry 48
Rain's Hand, 27th, 4E 201

We stopped off at Rorikstead for the night, and got up before sunrise, so we could get as far we can for the day. Along the way, Ignacia and I chatted about Kinolangdanzel, the apparent Ocarina, and my thoughts on it being the key to entering that gate in Morwitijaal.

Ran into some bandits, along the way, too - to be expected - as well as some... strange... ghost resembling a headless horseman. I'm not even going to bother questioning it. I've seen a lot of strange things, lately.

What's next, live dragons?

Not going to lie, this made me laugh out loud and I nearly covered my monitor with the lunch that was in my mouth. So, thanks for that. :p

I'll just say this: Kinolangdanzel can be a bit of a pain. Not TOO much of a pain... until you get to the rooms of "bosses". Like the ReDeads/Re-Deads/Redeads. Yeah... I won't be getting that right at all in this journal. Oh well! That's spur of the moment writing for you!

Journal Entries 49-52

Entry 49
Rain's Hand, 27th, 4E 201

Made it to Dragon Bridge just before noon. Had a few mishaps along the way - a bandit fort here, some mudcrabs there, a songbook page there - too bad I don't have the ocarina to use these songs.

The only question now is: should we stop at Mount Kilkreath and deal with this beacon? Or look for the location of Kinolangdanzel? I'm not sure, exactly.

It doesn't help that Ignacia's basically following my lead. Yeah. Following the lead of a former assassin. Very nice.

Though the "former" is rather tentative.

Entry 50
Rain's Hand, 27th, 4E 201

We decided to head to Mount Kilkreath and return Meridia's Beacon. Not that I have a fondness for Meridia. I remember hearing about my ancestor's stories - of what the Daedric Princes did during the time of the Alliance War - though not many people remember that nowadays. I suppose it's one thing my family keeps going.

There was a clanging fairy outside the temple, so apparently, there's a Hyrule relic somewhere in here. I'm not sure if Meridia has any idea about it - or if she has any interest in whatever Hyrule is. I'm still not sure myself.

Entry 51
Rain's Hand, 27th, 4E 201

Moving a light across a temple. Simple enough - including the strange shades and a man whose name I can't remember. Also a necromancer.

I found another of those tarnished shards inside, as well as a recipe referring to the "Blade of Evil's Bane". Obviously some sort of Hyrulean relic, but that is something to figure out later.

I think Ignacia and I will stay the night at Dragon's Bridge, before we move on to Kinolangdanzel. I heard from locals that the strange Dwemer-like ruin was in the northwest somewhere.

Entry 52
Rain's Hand, 27th, 4E 201

Just as we were getting to Dragon Bridge, the world suddenly... shifted. I'm not sure if I've even worded that right. Anyway.

Just as soon as that happened, some... fabricant... came up and spoke to me. Called me a hero, and told me to head to a place called Stonehole Mine. He also said "take me with you" - which literally meant "take out his pneuma and keep it as we travel".

However, I'm feeling tired just writing this. We won't go until the morning, despite the protests of this fabricant - Llavados.

But, I guess we're taking a detour then.

You know, having followed the story so far, I have come to the realisation that I don't often put much thought into my character's motivations and goals while playing. I usually just float through and do whatever takes my fancy. I see now how it would be interesting to set them ahead of time, as if I were writing my own story about the events through the eyes of a "real" character, so to speak. Good food for thought.
