someone told me to take melatonin pills but i need to ask my parents to buy them for me

I mean, I guess melatonin pills are one way of doing it. It's probably the most "forceful" way of doing so, but that's one option at your disposal.

i’ve tried lots of things to force myself to sleep, and nothing works very well tbh so i probably need melatonin pills

Well, see, that's also a problem as well. It's hard to force your body to fall asleep. It kind of just needs to happen naturally. Like I'm able to fall asleep right away nowadays since my body's adapted to a very stable sleep schedule, so it knows when it should be getting sleepy and start shutting down and ****.

I fall asleep pretty easily most of the time. If I don’t it’s typically because I have something in my mind in which case I just think about breathing to keep my mind off of it and that usually knocks me out pretty quickly.

I am also good at sleeping, my trick involves never waking up before noon at the latest. Ten AM at the absolute earliest when Noon isn't an option.

The real trick is to stick to a schedule and only go to your bed when you actually want to sleep.
