Welcome to the MarriProm Pokémon battling event! All are welcome regardless of how much experience you have with competitive battling; this Double Battle tournament is meant to be purely casual and fun. Even if you're not taking part in the prom directly, we encourage anyone on the forums to participate, be they prom couples, pairs of friends, or single entrants alike.
How to Join:
Signups will be open until February 8th, at which time the bracket will be created and we'll begin our little game. Since not everybody will likely own a copy of the most recent Pokémon games (and even if they did, wireless would be a hassle), we're going to be using the Pokémon Showdown! online battle simulator. The free simulator doesn't support Multi Battles directly, but it's easy for individuals or teams to work together on the same account. You're free to use whichever account you like, or even create a new one, as long as the name wouldn't go against our forum rules in any way. You'll also have to use the same account for the whole tournament. Once that's decided, just post here saying you'd like to join and fill out this simple form:

Rules of Engagement:
- The tournament will be single elimination, with matches played best of 3. The final will be best of 5!
- We will be playing based on the VGC 2020 format from Sword and Shield. Furthermore, In keeping with the rosy theme of this tournament, all Pokémon that you use to build your team must be in the Red, Pink, or White color groups. You can find a list of the allowed Pokémon down below.
- Please use the "VGC 2020" format on Pokémon Showdown! to conduct your matches.
- If it becomes apparent that someone's team doesn't follow the special rules, the first time it will be a warning and the battle in question should be replayed. The second time, it'll count as a loss!
- It's very important that you save your replay after your battle! You can do this by clicking the "upload and share replay" button that will appear at the end of a battle and then copy/pasting the link from the new window in this thread; you should end up with two or three replays for a full best of 3 match. I trust that no one will try to misreport a result intentionally, but it's always good to document things!
- Please mention "Valentine" somewhere in your signup post so I know you've read through this!
